DAZ|Studio F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 06 9:16 pm)
I was using PP2014GD and when P11 Pro was on sale previously I found myself at the same crossroad 3doutlaw. I decided to go for it and turns out P11 is not too shabby at all. I like tinkering with the Superfly shaders. Besides the Daz gear to send over I use Architools in Carrara improve the model in Silo and stuff around with textures and shaders in Poser. I think if you take a peek at SM's YouTube channel there is a webinar on Superfly which is enlightening as far as possibilities go.

I assume you wanted to know if or how DAZ Studio (as opposed to DAZ the company) works with Poser. I abandoned Poser years ago in favor of DAZ Studio. I decided to give Poser another try, with Poser 10. I rarely use it. I've adopted the Genesis generation of DAZ characters. Poser doesn't work well, if at all, with Genesis. I've abandoned Poser once again.
As an animator I stayed with poser 6 up to around the year 2015 as I saw no reason to move completely. to Daz studio.
This changed completely when I partially migrated from Mac OS to windows.7 I did eventually. get poser pro 2014 for windows.
once I started to use the windows only Iclone for animation of Daz genesis figures for DS 4.x poser became a lumbering, regressive, vestigial relic. and has been removed from my character animation. pipeline completely.

Based on the Poser Pro 11 upgrade sale...I was wondering if anyone (as a Daz user) also used Poser in any sort of way that works with Daz? Maybe toon rendering, animation, import/export from one to another, etc...?
I used to use Poser, but no longer.
...but it is a good sale, and I use other Smith Micro products, and I used to love Poser animation capabilities, and the toon renders intrigue me,..but I was thinking the gap between the daz content and poser formats is too wide these days?
Anyone who uses both, please reply and let me know what benefits you see from owning/using both (other than content creation for sale to a possibly wider market, of course)
