OK I know Bryce is not a 64 bit app but last night doing some renders and I use to Render to disk all the time in my old system and never came across this issue before where the CPU heated up to temps above 80 degrees when I redid the render and used normal rendering mode at a lower resolution than what I was wanting then CPU temps were around high 60's found this to be very odd wondered if anyone has come across this before

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

CPU Intel Core i7 6700K @ 4.00GHz

RAM 64.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1066MHz

Motherboard Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. Z170X-Gaming 7

Graphics 6144MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti (Gigabyte)

Thanks in Advance

All I can tell you is that Bryce is notorious for sucking up RAM like a baby elephant at a watering hole.

Is the CPU temps something that you need to be concerned about. I don't know at what point they become a problem on any PC. For myself, I would stick to normal render modes unless you really need a Hi-Def image. On the other hand, do you really need to render-to-disk? I'm usually content to just let is screen-render in the background.

In the past on my older machine which was also 64 bit much less memory I would do render to disk usually was faster and I could continue working on other things like surfing the web or such. Normally my new system since I use water cooling under normal load CPU temp stays between 28 to 34 degrees but now using the render to disk temp jumping to above 80 degrees just seemed not normal not sure why.

I am interested in the result of the Bryce-test for the configuration of your computer. http://www.bryce-3d.narod.ru/bryce_test_multi_eng.html

Poseruserfromrussia, many thanks for your post. I'd forgotten about the use all core options in Bryce. Your link is very interesting.
