Subject: Koz ShortBob Help?

GrandmaT ( ) posted Sat, 29 October 2016 at 6:23 PM ยท edited Mon, 23 December 2024 at 7:49 AM

I have Kozaburo's Short Bob hair but for some reason the basic textures and TransMap files have disappeared. I tried to download a fresh copy from the DigitalBabes site but all that comes in is a text document of code. Can anyone tell me an alternative site to get the file or supply the TransMap png/jpg? Thanks!

Hi GrandmaT I have the maps here. But just a point. If you can't see the maps in your runtime and then went to the site to get a fresh copy where only text file is showing it could be filtering your search results. When you open windows explorer does it show - all files - or jpg, png. ?

It is showing "All" in my browser window. I tried going through three different routes and got the same result every time. I have the hair obj and it shows up with the wireframe mesh when I load it but when I apply a texture, it shows the square blocks and I have searched in the logical and some illogical places in my Runtimes. Thanks for helping with this.

Okay I have downloaded the file from the same site, unzipped it and taken a peek. I am looking at all the files. Is this in Daz or Poser? Even if the original file/s have disappeared from the runtime or off the computer then you still should be able to view the files on the fresh download.

You could also select your runtime folder in Windows Explorer and in the search box type the file name below. To see if you can locate it. If you think it may have accidently been moved then My PC or This PC and carry out a bigger search.

I use Poser 10 on a Mac. I did a search on my computer and it found nothing with short_bob_trans.jpg in any file. I guess when I upgraded from P7 to P10 it got lost in the transfer or when I created separate Runtimes for Cr2 and HR2 based hair (I'm a sucker for hair). When I try to download the file from the Koz site it comes in as a .sit and when I click it, a gobble-d-gook text file opens. I've downloaded it with different browsers and it's the same.

Okay I will take a look at the Mac files now.

I have extracted the SIT file on a PC and gone through all the folders from the OBJ to textures and all are correct. If you can open a Zip file on your mac you could even grab the Windows Zip version for the textures, however it seems to me that you are seeing the compressed file data and not the extracted content for some reason. Are you using Stuffit to extract the files? Right now I can say that both downloads available from the site are functional.

Yes, I use Stuffit for all my unzipping. I even tried 7zx for the heck of it last night but all it did was make a new zip. UPDATE: I had an idea while responding and was going to drag the .sit directly into Stuffit but to my surprise, the application wasn't in my app folder. I just downloaded a new copy and the .sit opened immediately. This is starting to creep me out. I wonder what else is disappearing on my computer? ANYWAY, thank you for all the work on my gremlin problem.

That sounds promising GrandmaT. I dragged the sit file directly onto the Stuffit icon on the desktop to get the result. Of course you kind of need the application sitting behind it on the hard drive because the icon itself don't do much LOL. Could be one of those unsolved mysteries and you will never know, but I guess once you got your hair on you won't really care either. :-)
