Subject: Genesis 2 into Poser Pro 2014

Bendinggrass ( ) posted Wed, 30 November 2016 at 8:33 PM · edited Sat, 26 October 2024 at 2:12 PM

Can I simply install, download, a G2 item into PP 2014. Where will it go as there is only a Runtime in Poser? Thanks.

No, Genesis 2 requires the use of DSON it is a free tool you can find on Daz's website.

Is one installation of DSON sufficient to install all my G2 items or do I have to install it with each G2 item I install, including cloths, shoes, etc.?

DSON should only need one install. I have never used it but I am sure you could Google for a tutorial on the process

DSON will import DAZStudio .duf format files into Poser, however, not all content are designed to import correctly. Firstly, check if the DAZ content can be used used in both DAZStudio and Poser. A good number of Genesis 2 content can be used in both application, but there are many that are designated for DAZStudio only. Read the content page carefully before committing. Although, converting the content shouldn't be a problem, you will need DAZStudio installed and an understanding on how to proceed with a conversion. Secondly, if the content can be used in both applications, there should also be Poser Companion Files available. Both DAZ Companion Files and Poser Companion files are necessary and should be installed for successful DSON importation. They should also be linked to Poser.

D3D does have a free DUF loader which works very well in Poser. With this added to Poser, you should not need to install DAZStudio.

Thanks, all. I have installed DSON in Poser, and some content package. Mercifully..... it works.... but what a mess it seems to be. I need a way to organize better in Poser. The DS 4.9 categories are great, but there is nothing similar in Poser..... am I wrong on that?

Each have their own way of organizing content. After years of Poser, I am becoming more comfortable with DAZStudio layout. The more you use it, the more demystified it becomes.
