Hi, I'm Andrea from Italy, I own Poser 4.03 and I've just bought Bryce 5. I've just bought Knight of the Triple Rose for Victoria 1 and I'm very happy about it! The trouble is that I'd like to use this character in Bryce also, but when I export it (manually or using Natural Pose), the result is almost terrible, infact Poser render the character in a wonderfule way and Bryce render it very very bad. (attached you can see the two different renderings). Is it possible to render the character in Bryce as good as in Poser? If yes, what parameters should I set to do this? Thank you for any answers Hi from Italy Andrea

thats a problem with the settings of the textures in the matlab and the light. For the best settings of the textures, there are several tutorials available.have a look here in the tutorialsektion or at www.brycetech.com, or go to the bryceforum, where these probs are dicussed several times. for the lighting I myself put a conelight near the camera so that the person gets some light from the front

When you get the hang of it you will find that bryce renders will be better than poser(I think so at least..).Make sure to add light, the standard light wont do and play around with the reflectiveness of the armour tex..if you dont know how to there should be a tut about somwhere here...also remember that transparancy doesn't automaticly work from poser to bryce(eyes and hair for exmp )

let's not forget to mention the eyeballs that need to be either deleted or set to complete transparent/glass.

Also, turn down the ambience. Usually everything imports in Bryce with the ambience cranked way up. I think in Bryce 5 gamma correction is off by default. If not, turn off gamma correction, skin tones look much better. You'll also need to manually apply the trans maps. You can also change the sun position, color, and shadow intensity in the skylab. Hope this helps!!

There are a lot of things worse than dying, being afraid all the time would be one.

If the detailing on the armor is a bump map, or can be converted to a bump map, you can also use one of Bryce's preset metals on it, they you will get true reflections and a real nice look. One big advantage of Bryce is it does raytracing with true reflections.
