Subject: Python script to change x,y,z-translate/rotate/scale dial sensitivity?

karibousboutique ( ) posted Sun, 09 July 2017 at 6:16 PM · edited Thu, 02 January 2025 at 2:15 PM

There are so many times when I need very fine adjustments to the X-Y-Z translate, rotate and scale dials, and it makes me crazy to have to change each dial's settings from a sensitivity of 1 to 0.1 for EVERY dial on EVERY prop or figure that needs fine adjustment. Any python wizards out there who could make a script that changes these dials' sensitivity with one click per prop? In a time when I use V4 items FREQUENTLY on figures like Pauline or Dawn, I'm running into this issue all the time and it's a huge workflow speedbump. Without that change in sensitivity, a tiny bump of the dial moves the prop WAY too far. If a product that does this already exists, please point the way!

Don't know if there's a script but you can edit the Cr2 using Cr2Editor, which is free and very good. A search and replace on Sensitivity should do the trick.

You can open props in a text editor and do the same thing there.

BTW, I notice you have a child with autism. Me too. :)

Not a bad idea, but still a little more labor intensive than I'd like. I may have to brush off my python skills shudder and see if I can manage it myself.

And autistic kids are au-some, lol! :)

Snarlygribbly's Scene Fixer python script - http://orphans.basicwiz.com/

When you run it - select the second option - Dials - then select all the dials you want to change the sensitivity on - input the new sensitivity value - tick the box and click apply.

all done - rerun the script to reverse the settings
