Subject: Another Newbie Question

When loading more than one object into a scene, how to I move one of the objects so the whole scene doesn't move? I've read tutorials and done every thing that was suggested but I can't seem to get anything to work.

Hi, This is one of those things that is easy to do but at least for me not that easy to explain but let me try. Select the object you want to move in the Scene Tab. There are other ways to select but that might be the easiest if the object are all overlapping. Under the Tools menu or using the icon select the Universal Tool. You will see the Universal Tool widget somewhere in the Viewport Window. Use the Universal Tool widget (Click and drag on the Arrow to move the object you selected in the direction of the arrow.) You can use the Universal Tool to move or rotate or even scale the object that you select. And remember, if you mess up that Ctrl-Z or Undo under the Edit Menu can come in handy.

I hope this helps. I remember when I was trying to learn all this. (Still learning....)

Please ask any questions, there are lots of people here that are willing to help

As weel as the universal tool in the viewport you can also use the translation sliders in the Parameters pane or in the Posing pane.

Thank you this worked, but I have another question related to this. If you add another object to your scene and it goes behind another object how do you bring it to the front?

Move it forward on the z plane in the parameters tab (positive numbers) or move the other object back on the z-plane. The X-plane moves left right, Y plane up-down, Z-Plane towards you-away from you.
