Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 27 5:12 pm)
Hmm, any other ideas? I tried using the morph tools in poser. Not really getting the effect I want. Is there a way to actually replace the face?? I could do the effect in PS but I am trying to avoid that. .Id like to be able to manipulate the figure in poser. I've seen figures with smooth surfaces where the face should be so there must be a way to do it. I would purchase a figure if there was one with the look I am going for. However I have not seen any as of yet.
As far as I know there are no morphs included with any character that I know of at least, that does whats in your picture. But to me it looks like it were done with a morph tool, maybe in zbrush as it have some good tools for stuff like that.
The face is as you know made of a mesh which contain facial features build into it, so unless a new face is made to fit the rest of characters body mesh its not that easy to simply replace it as it would require you to rig the character again, that is why I assume that it was done using a morph to smoothing out the facial features and maybe finish it in photoshop/Gimp. Alternatively you might be able to place a sphere (Egg shape) so it covers the face and then parent it to the figure so it stay in place, then use the morph tool to fit is as good as you can. Apply the texture to it and paint out the seams in PS/Gimp if there are any.
There is - or was - a Spiderman type face mask made by Sharby. It was for M3, IIRC, but I reckon you could parent it to any figure and scale it accordingly. A suitable texture would make it blend in well.

That can be done using Andy 2 and the suit jacket from James. There is a lot of adjustments you have to make to both meshes to get it to work, but another solution would be to export Andy's head as an .obj file and then use the replace body parts with a prop feature on James or any figure you want to work with.
If I had a nickle for ever time a woman told me to get lost, I could buy Manhattan.
I'm guessing it's for a animation.if so. you could make "model" ya dome faceless n treat it like cloths n stick it over his face. mix the textures like they do the dudes boy parts.

To use Andy's head, load Andy, select his head, use the Group Editor to spawn a prop, delete Andy, load your preferred figure, parent your new Andy Head prop to the figures head and adjust position and scale to your liking. Hide the figure's head. If you like use the morph brush to modify the prop head.
Or, pose Andy with the figure you're using, hide everything on Andy except his head. On your main figure, make a transmap for the head, except for the ears (or lug 'oles as we Brits are wont to call 'em) and that should see you right.

I am trying to create a specific effect on poser figures face. Does anyone know if this effect is possible and if so how to do it? Happy to buy any software if it will work.
