Subject: Where to post technical issues with website?

PandaB5 ( ) posted Sat, 19 May 2018 at 8:54 AM ยท edited Sat, 16 November 2024 at 9:36 PM

I don't know where to ask this / point this out:

I wanted to update a freebie and it would allow me to update the thumbnail and the file but not the image.

It didn't give me an error message it would just go to a blank page with this:

https://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/?upload

(I added Superfly to a product that just had Firefly support before so I really wanted to also update the image for the 5 people left who actually look at the picture and don't just download from the thumbnail.)

On the right hand edge of your screen is a green tab "feedback". I believe that can help you in the future. But as it is, having posted here will get someone's attention. ๐Ÿ˜„

This error persists.

If the only method of communicating technical errors is the green Feedback button then how does one know:

  1. If something is already reported.
  2. If they're attending to it and an expected completion date i.e. you are number 503 in the queue.
  3. If they're not going to bother fixing it.
  4. When it is fixed.

(Helpdesk software ... a tracking system ... other companies have it ... it's so nice ... you know things are received ... you know they're attending to it ... it's very helpful ... even a dedicated forum ... there used to be a thread - most of it was ignored much like the green feedback button but then at least you knew you were heard - and being ignored.)

hi, just to note rendo staff: http(s)://renderosity.com leads to a blank page www.renderosity.com works as intended but the TLD is not, at least from .DE thanks for the gift card :)

I'm sure this is not a problem of Renderosity, I usually start to Rendo from my list of most used sites (in Firefox) and that link is https://www.renderosity.com. I visit the site more than once a day and during the last weeks I had no problems to reach the site. So, just one question, what browser do you use? Did you try to delete the browser cache?

Hey, Panda! Forums are great place to post technical errors. Actually one of the best places. Could you sitemail me the image and freestuff item link you are trying to update. So I can see what the issue is.

https://www.renderosity.com works yes, but not https://renderosity.com - both FireFox and Chrome times out: "This site canโ€™t be reached renderosity.com took too long to respond."

This started a week ago or so (there was even a thread in the DAZ forum about it).

You are right, that form doesn't work but I usually wouldn't use that, Too complicated, www.renderosity.com is faster and leads automatically to https;//www.renderosity com.

But nevertheless, I'll forward this to the programmers.

I used to type renderosity.com which is the simplest of all, but that doesn't work anymore.

Jules53757 ( ) posted Thu, 31 May 2018 at 5:12 AM

As I'm using Firefox for me it is enough to type rend and enter and https://www.renderosity.com appers in the adress line of Firefox and leads me directly to the site but as I wrote, I forwarded it to the responsible guys but they are now still at home, it's 5 a. m. there, 7 hours before UTC+1.

I actually used to do the same, autocomplete just generated renderosity.com instead because that's what I used in the beginning. Looks like clearing the cache and then type www.renderosity.com it will just generate that instead in the future, so that's OK.

Maybe the change is intentional, it's said that it's bad for SEO to use both, but people usually expect URLs to work without www so it may be a bad idea in that respect. Looks though as if a redirect can solve the problem:

@ taoz:

So, the problem with the URL without www is solved. Thanks for reporting that.

I'm also having problems finding the upload link. Nothing in the drop down menu at the top and nothing in the menu above my gallery.

I haven't been active since 2010, but I believe the link should still be there?

@ wolfenshire

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜„ That was well hidden.

Btw...is it possible to move images that's been posted earlier into different albums? I've tried but can't seem to find a way to do so.

I've never messed around with the albums, so no clue on that one.
