I've done before. Some clothing never works in the cloth room because it's made in pieces that aren't and can't be welded. Many do seem to work using the method you described. For pockets and such, make them soft decorated. There can be some problem with the cloth intersecting itself. Checking the 3 boxes under the Additional Cloth Collisions Option in the Simulation settings dialog help with that. If you still get some, and it shows on the render, use the smooth on the morph brush. That usually fixes it. Also, something to think about. Most clothes load in the T formation. You can pose the arms or legs before converting to the object file.

I use Poser 13 and win 10
Right now I'm trying some of Thunderstone's tutorial's suggestions. The first tutorial is basically what I already do (results confirmed by RedPhantom), but I am paying attention to some of the options to click. Obviously, if I'm creating a jacket over a chair or a shirt over a chair I don't have to worry about constraining it as he does in the miniskirt; I just have to arrange it so it doesn't slip off. Interestingly some of the clothes that I tend to like to use are from Billy-T, which the tutorial author specifically calls out for not working for this 'hack' due to their structural polygon formation.
I'm getting a '403 forbidden' error for the 2nd tutorial, however. Plexeyse? Maybe I have to be a member? Do you perhaps have the website address? => Nope, I googled it and it looks like it refers to Smith Micro and the information on that one is old. There is no way to access that particular tutorial, or other in the list. Oh Well.
Regarding Nails 60 comment, I have to look at that.

I periodically have the desire to create a messy scene, like throwing a coat over a chair or a shirt on the ground. I would like it to be what the character, typically V4 or M4 happens to be wearing. I've tried exporting as *.obj and then importing and clothifying. Sometimes it works. But mostly things like pockets fall off, and facets invert very pointely. I don't know what kind of a mesh things need to drape right.
Any thoughts? Any tutorials that address this? I have one about making blankets, but not about taking something that already exists.
I'm working in pro/ Game Developer. I have the next version up but have never installed it. Game Developer has been working perfectly and early on I did not switch because I heard there were problems with the search and library which I found working really really well in the Pro/Game Developer version
