I don't mind contributing where I can, but I prefer it to be for the communities benefit, not someone's 'selfish' gain. I'm sure others may benefit, now or in the future, in some way, from all those that contributed to that thread or any thread for that matter. Threads being removed for no apparent reason doesn't sit well with me. If there was some sort of infringement on forum rules then that should be dealt with in the thread. Posts can be addressed but removing threads!? it's a total disregard to the time those that contributed, have taken. I must be honest, I'm hesitant to make further contributions to requests for help if there's a possibility of my contribution being removed. Maybe my perception of what a forum is differs from the values or principles of RO.
Thanks for the reply though, Jeff. Appreciate it.
As Diogenese tried to tell you, this is not an unlimited free speech zone. There are limits to what we can do or say here, just as there are on any privately-owned forum. I addressed the issue of what is allowed with Ashley to determine whether we were overstepping. She found the last part of the discussion violated forum standards and made the status change. I think it was the right call, but I'm sorry it turned out that way.
Mate, I don't know what you are referring to, however it sounds like someone said something that was out of line. While I appreciate the need for moderation of any forum and I am certainly not promoting unlimited free speech, the point I made is that the specific comment should be moderated, not the entire thread. Also, if the thread was getting out of hand I'm sure it could simply have been locked to further discussion, keeping what may have been of value in tact. Again, that's my view only.
Don't get me wrong; I'm not precious about my input to that thread. It's more a matter of principle and respect or consideration to those that do try to contribute in accordance with forum rules.
Again, I appreciate you taking the time to respond and I'm happy for us to leave it at that.
I think they started getting uneasy about where the whole thread was heading. I know I was. It's one thing to talk about DAZ the program on Rendo since they have a large number of vendors making a lot of content for it. It is quite another to discuss DAZ the content store. That really needs to be a private discussion here because invariably there are going to be comparisons. Since gtoon has all our contact information if he wants to get further information from us, that's pretty much all that is needed. That thread needed to be taken private.
I don't think the decision was made based on anything any particular poster said.

What happened to the thread originally posted by gToon 'for Help with Daz Studio Renderosity Magazine Article'? Has it been moved elsewhere? When go to the original link I get a message 'Sorry! This is a private forum that you cannot participate in.'
Uh, I think I did participate in it already.
