Subject: How does Render Queue render so fast?

When I work in Poser and I render a scene, usually that's me locked out of doing anything more with the software until the render is done. When I add to the queue though it seems I can still use Poser while my stuff renders. How is it able to do that? Is it using my system or rendering across a Poser network render farm somewhere?

It is using your system, but is running the render engine as a separate program that runs in the background. Of course if you have a second pc you can install queue manager on this and then get that machine to do the rendering. (There is due to be an update to poser 11 tomorrow which solves a problem with queue manager separate version having the wrong build number and so not working remotely unless you do a full install of poser 11 on the client machine.)

Thanks for mentioning the render queue. I hadn't tried that before, and didn't realize the recent updates allow you to use Superfly in there (the Poser 11 user manual says Firefly only.) What a wonderful surprise to render a decent quality Superfly image in 33 minutes and still be able to use my computer (and not fry it!) It wasn't a small one either. Very excited about using this method going forward.

Ditto to the OP. I had not used it, either, but yesterday it probably saved me an hour or more while rending 5 large images that will be incorporated into a book cover I'm working on. This is definitely part of my workflow when I use Superfly or Firefly.

Note: Doesn't work with Preview renders, but that's okay. Even huge Preview renders happen pretty darn fast.
