I wonder what this helps ... recently I've been attempting to convert conforming clothing into dynamic by exporting/importing .obj, but the models seem to fall apart during simulation calc, no matter what group editing I try, including "weld group."

One thing that list I found on the SM Poser Forum doesn't mention is, folks who had updated the last couple of Service Releases had been having problems when clicking on Universe in the Hierarchy Editor, as it would crash Poser. From some of the comments I've seen on that forum the past couple of days, it's also been fixed.

@vitachick This update is for those using Poser 11 or Poser Pro 11, not an update for Poser 2014.

@vitachick: I still use Poser Pro 2014 besides PP11. Is there something with PP2014 that needs to be updated? I think it's very stable.

The issue solved is in the Python interface. The welded import in the user interface worked and was not changed. If a certain geometry you imported manually does not appear 'welded', the vertex arrangement may be such the vertices cannot be welded.

The advantage of the update is that you can now have a Python script that can export a welded mesh. It is not fast because it involves saving as a prop, reload welded, and then save out the welded prop, but at least it is something.

The fix was made following a report by yours truly. Tomorrow I will check out the test script I provided to SM at the time and post it over the weekend because it may be of interest to others.

It will also be part of the MDBridge to Poser. MD can deal with un-welded meshes but it needs a welded mesh of the avatar if you want to draw lines on the avatar and trace patterns from it.

I'm with randym77. What do you download - the updates or the installers? Could I just download only the update on the Updates tab or do I have to download all from the Installers?

I can not be sure it will work for you, but there is an older (and free) script from D3d that does the conversion well for me. http://d3d.sesseler.de/index.php?software=poserpython&product=figure2prop

After having updated, is anyone else experiencing, that the libraries folder won't stay open anymore on a restart? Closing the PP11 and restarting it later again, every folder in the libraries are closed now (using the default library, not a 3rd party plug in). For others a blessing maybe, but I always disliked this behavior. From previous versions I think to remember, that there was an option to tick "re-open folder", or something to this extend. I cannot find this anymore now.

Well here is the script, slightly pimped relative to original. Feel free to use and try. Testing revealed a technical problem with some figures. I found it working well for PE, V4, Dawn, Pauline and Roxie. There are problems that I cannot explain for Bella and Rafaella. Same module in Poser works differently for some reason. The exporter works correctly but the .obj file has zero length. Anyone who can shed some light on the why please let me know.

NOTE: THE SCRIPT WORKS ONLY WITH THE RECENT UPDATE OF POSER !!!!!!!
