From what you show here, I see two blue wiggly lines. That will be your recording. I'm not seeing a problem here.

I don't know the exact settings for your hardware, but you can go into control panel > sound (icon) > recording (tab) just like your picture. There, you can select your device and make sure it's plugged in and working. Then you can see what it's doing by pressing properties. It could be shut off. You may also have extra software to help with all that.

Excuse me! Anyone use audacity? If yes,please help. I did many adjustings to record voice ,but it always showed a "line". Please tell how to do it then ? Thanks.
