I came across this and it looks like it might have some potential for importing from Daz to Blender and rendering using Cycles I have not tried it yet but I suggest reading the documentation and follow the steps closely in how to install into Blender and Daz

I don't use the most recent version of DS, so not sure it would pertain to me, but I sure would love a Bridge to Poser.

I saw an FB post which is where I found this info about the Daz Import and it included some interesting info about a a work flow with Poser and Blender that might be very useful now allot of info in this and it explains a work flow and how it works I think the creator of the article is more explaining the process and show examples of how it works among different apps but the ability is also native to Poser and Blender

FOR POSER USERS

POSER have Something very Good for BLENDER that is FREE Native ALEMBIC Export : )

That is a feature that in DAZSTUDIO costs 90$ dolars

https://www.daz3d.com/alembic-exporter-for-daz-studio

BUT POSER GOT FOR FREE !

Just Export your Scene to FBX , And ALEMBIC From poser . Copy the Materials from FBX to Alembic .

Then you Can Have a DIrect Conection with POSER + BLENDER Were anithing you Change in poser - Export to ALEMBIC format from poser , and it updates in Blender Maintaining the Materials

Real Time Character Rendering in Blender 2.8 (EEVEE)

iClone alembic export to Blender 2.8 - tut 01

WITH POSER ... Its the Same Workflows as if Exporting from Maya or Character creator ...

BLENDER 2.8A - EVEE ALEMBIC REVIEW

Making EVERYTHING coming outside blender in ALEMBIC be Updated in a Direct Conection ...

With the Mesh Sequence cache Modifier

Blender: Mesh Sequence Cache (Python Addon)

So this way Alowing :

  1. Exporting from poser Characters + cloths to ALEMBIC

  2. Exporting Dazstudio Scenes to Blender with blender Plugin

Then one can render even in REALTIME With EVEE in Blender ...

Even be able to do gigantic Amazing Scenes ... Hyper realistic , and with Amazing Shaders ..

Whoa! I'm assuming this workflow only works with Blender 2.8, and not with earlier versions.

I do not think that is the case the ALEMBIC import is available in 2.79 so it should be possible to use 2.79 instead of 2.8

Diffeomorphic does work with older versions of Blender...and it works well with MOST things ;). Also, someone on another site mentioned they were working on a Blender plugin bridge to DS, which would be even better than a script :). We just have to be patient (which for me is nigh to impossible....lol).

I personally have never used Diffeomorphic on a version other than 2.8 (I'm new to Blender) but I know those who have been using it for quite awhile...definitely since before 2.8 :)

The Poser-to-Blender news is quite exciting. I've actually gone back to Poser Pro 2014 as 1) it doesn't have that odd "phone-home feature" of the latest version, and 2) runs brilliantly well in Linux Mint. I've even got Adobe Air to install in WINE, so the native Poser Library works, well, in 32-bit Poser Pro, anyway.

This renders my little "shader-addon" obsolete, which is a relief, because I really wasn't looking forward to learning a new API in order to port the thing to 2.8. I doubt there's that many users anyway. I was scratching my own itch anyway, and making it available to others, as we open-source folk do... it was never meant to be anything really slick and polished. 😉

Where can we download the alembic mesh cache addon for blender mentioned by lobo3433? I know blender has its own mech cache importer but the specific python script mentioned in the demo video. TY.

I was excited to find this also the idea of a real potential work flow between Poser and Blender with out getting to overly messy with add-on's that sometimes get dropped midway thru development and such and that a potential native just export import work flow may already exist sounds ideal to me

In the Poser to Blender workflow, it says to copy the Materials from FBX to Alembic. How do you do that?

When you export from Poser and the options of what to include for FBX make sure that you have check marks in Bake Diffuse color into texture (note forgot to check that one before took screen shot) Complete Texture Atlas and max Size are check a folder will appear with your textures in the same location of where you save your FBX file and then you use those textures to assign to your Alembic file that you have imported into Blender you will need to assign them to the model in Blender see screen shot below. I am using Poser Pro11.1

Your welcome it actually took me about 30 minutes to figure out what was meant by by the one line instruction once I added those check marks and saw the texture folder then it clicked what I did learn is the source of the information is a creator who will be publishing more in depth tutorials on doing this and more for Poser Daz Stuido and Blender and they will eventually available here in Renderosity market place as well on Gumroad and ArtStation I am looking forward to these when they do come out

Have found this today:

DAZtoBlender8 is a plug-in for migrating and using DazStudio's Genesis 8 figures to Blender.

Besides basic functions such as IK / FK switching and material adjustment, it also has many applied functions such as morph creation for DazStudio and transition to Rigify mode. DazStudio has considerable limitations on the basic functionality of 3D applications, but DazToBlender 8 is completely open to users from those limitations and is able to express itself freely in a state-of-the-art 3D space The purpose is.

Hi Most of the Daz blender plugins seem to focus on Genesis3/8

You can do a straight FBX export of any generation of genesis from Daz studio and render in EEVEE( 2.81) with some minor adjustments to the principled shaders to get the skin/hair looking correct.

The Daz genesis 2 female ,in the linked video, has smart propped, hi -res eye balls (because I hate ALL of the native ones)

And smart propped ear hoops as well. ( Note the forehead poke through at the end is not a blender problem but happens whey any gen 2 female is head morphed away from the default with this hair product)

Her lipsync was done in Mimic live in Daz studio https://youtu.be/UhEDzwLKLhc

Today's DAZ eNewsletter announced the Bridge Importers from DS to several other softwares (except, of course, Poser), and not remembering this discussion from last year, I thought they were all new. I guess not.

If they did a bridge for poser they would wait for version 12 to come up anyway !
