Ive tried a couple of times now to export La Femme's had to zBrush. Poser fails to export an .obj. What am I doing wrong? Is this a 'feature' so to speak? I can use the morph brush if need be, but zbrush has more options....

Boni ( ) posted Tue, 03 September 2019 at 1:31 PM

You may be able to export as a figure easier. Menu>figure>export figure mesh to GoZ With the way PP11 uses morphs etc. with the newer figures and the morphs integrated with the body rather than just individual body parts as with La Femme this is more likely to work. Have you set up Zbrush to know where your Poser .exe is? There are steps to be taken first. If you already know all this, my apologies.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. Hopefully I can get it to work and start actually using La Femme

To export tubes, you need a plumber.

if rendersoty had had beta testers, that thing would never have been released. Now they are asking for early adopters.

The gang, has no clue what they are doing.

Poser gives this error: CUsers]PublicPixologicGoZBrushGoZMakeObjectPath.exe failed (error 2: the system cannot find the file specified)

Edit, well thats because MakeObjectPath.exe doesn't exist -_-

There should be a folder called Poser in C:UsersPublicPixologicGoZApps; there should be 4 files in it, 3 text files called GoZ_Config, GoZ_Info and Instructions, plus a batch file called GoZBrushToPoser.

If they're not there, try reinstalling the separate Poser Support Files installer and they should then show up. I've had to do this on a few occasions myself.

knyghtmare2021, if you don't have this (blocked in red) listed in Poser, then caisson's advice is your next step. IF you do have this, then that is where you send your La Femme TO Zbrush, first ... it will trigger ZBrush to open and then you follow the retrieve process.

So I'm at work now... but the folder does contain 4 files. I didn't check the file extensions this morning, but I can confirm they all LOOKED like text files....

I've had the same issue today following complete reinstall of Poser. Same error message, GoZMakeObjectPath.exe not found.

To fix it I went to Program Files-Pixologic-Zbrush 2019-Troubleshoot Help and reinstalled the separate GoZ installer. Then launched Zbrush, went to Preferences-GoZ and clicked on path to Poser. Waited for it to not find Poser, pointed it manually, then launched Poser and sent Andy2 to Zbrush using Export Figure Mesh to GoZ from the Figure menu. Success!

So, GoZMakeObjectPath.exe is installed by Pixologic's GoZ installer to Users-Public-Pixologic-GoZBrush, along with a bunch of other files and a Scripts folder.

Happy days are here again ;)

please forgive my stupidity here. Couldn't you just open up the folder with her geometry file and copy that into another folder? Work on the copy of the file then import that back into Poser?

Did you uninstall an older version of Poser which was linked to Zbrush,? Were you at any time even able to use the GoZ feature in Zbrush with any version of Poser ? This happen once a while back because I was using 2014 and removed it from the workstation,(kept poser pro 11) I just reinstalled the Poser support files from pro 11 in the download manager, (which contains the Goz files) and that fixed it.

@ghostship2 - using GoZ means you can choose to sculpt on the posed mesh, with polygroups by material or by body part, plus the ability to work on higher subD levels which you can choose to bake to lower levels or not ... lots of flexibility with a few button clicks. Reverse deformations is the correct term I think, and multi-resolution morphs.

@CHK2033 - the error message says that it's the Pixologic support file that is missing, so reinstalling GoZ should fix it.

Ah missed that part, but I see now only the face/head is whats wanting to be exported,GoZ isnt really needed for that anyway. Just did it, hid the body handles/went down to SubD 0 in figures property tab, exported just the head as an OBJ. with only name in polygroups selected. imported obj in zbrush made a crease across la femmes head exported in Poser went to objects/load morph targets selected head and now LaFemme has a nice random line I created in Zbrush across her head.So actually kind confused now as to why originally that method didnt export an OBJ. Maybe the SubD or Handles thing ?

Everything is just so much smoother, faster and easier if Goz works the way it should. I would hate to be without it now that i've gotten too used with it.
