Subject: Bondware License Activation 2

movida ( ) posted Thu, 19 September 2019 at 8:43 AM · edited Sun, 22 December 2024 at 5:36 AM

I tried to submit a ticket - I got some green little top down popup that disappeared so fast I couldn't even read it and my ticket disappeared so I don't know what is going on. I do not want my machine to have to be connected to the internet AT ALL after I do the initial install/activation - that is my question - is this possible. If not I'll pass on the update.

You need to submit a ticket here: https://support.posersoftware.com/support and the update is not a choice...at some point you will HAVE to update or the software will not work. It depends on the grace period you had with SM on your activation. But it will stop at some point. 😄

What is the logic behind this activation? That someone will install a legitimate version, get permanent activation then uninstall the legitimate version and install a pirated version? This is intrusive. If I wanted software companies to be perusing my harddrive I'd tell them so.

I already tried to submit a ticket - see my 1st post in this thread.

Just as a matter of fact, when software is hacked the first thing disabled/eliminated are the licensing systems. This phone home does nothing but inconvenience and take advantage of your legitimate customers.

I got your email and THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. This would have been a major sticking point for me and I don't want to leave Poser behind.

Again, thank you

Jan

Glad they fixed it for you. I've been told I'm screwed.

Unfortunately, I'm about to lose my internet. I don't know for how long. Is there anyway I can permanently activate my Poser 11.2 so it doesn't have to be online all the time?

Anyone needing a longer activation just needs to submit a ticket HERE and ask for an extended license activation. 😃 @karibousboutique....send me an email to jennblake@renderosity.com and tell me your issue and who told you what. 😄

_ When I asked about upgrading from Smith Micro so I could continue to get support I was told "Why you bought it from here and we will continue supporting it," Now I got a notification that my support has ended because I did not change over from Smith Micro, now I have no support for my Poser 11 program, why did this happen, and what should I do?

That was what a lot of people told SM when they discovered it had been slipped in with Game Dev but it fell on deaf ears, as did the warnings of the difficulty that would result if SM ever sold Poser. The only saving grace is that Rendo seem to know what they are doing and trying to be fair to those who would have otherwise have lost the use of Poser Game Dev, Poser 11 or Poser 11 Pro.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

@Solistic

We are supporting ALL users of Poser 11, Poser Pro 11 and Poser Pro 2014 Game Dev by giving the update for FREE to get all users onto our license server so there would be only minimal interruption for users. This FREE update also comes with $900 + value of FREE product AND all previous legacy content as well as figures...etc. You only need to download the new installation files from HERE and install. 😄
