Subject: Need Prefitter help

randym77 ( ) posted Sat, 28 September 2019 at 8:59 PM ยท edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 7:03 AM

I'm trying to use the Prefitter to fit clothing to La Femme. I bought the base and the La Femme extension. I'm using the instructions linked on the product page.

The instructions that came with the extension don't work, so maybe something has changed? It says if I unzip the file to where the Prefitter is installed, a La Femme morph will appear in the Prefitter figure. But that's not the case. It's an injectable morph in Poses/Clothing folder. Do I apply that before or after fitting the garment to the prefitter?

I tried applying it both before and after, and neither worked. For some reason V4 clothing comes in lower and behind the Prefitter after I transfer and apply the morphs and conform the item to La Femme.

That is 3D-Age's bodysuit, but I tried several items of clothing, and got the same results. (The V4 morphing cowl, the DAZ morphing bodsuit, etc.)

What am I doing wrong?

The Prefitter for LaFemme is working for me. It looks like some confusion with the steps.

For the INJ pose, Run the pose just after loading the Prefitter. Make sure to select the Prefitter. That will add the LaFemme morph to the Prefitter. Then follow the steps as usual.

For me, I found following the example in the instructions to be easy and helpful.

Apply the morph to prefitter and set the morph to Le Femme. Make certain that both the prefitter and La Femme are zeroed. That is very important. Otherwise, the V4 clothing will not fit properly. The guideline to follow, if the prefitter does not cover the La Femme figure then something is off.

I must be doing something wrong. I tried following the example, but the results are horrible.

I was careful to zero both the garment and the prefitter, but as soon as I dial in the La Femme morph, the clothing jumps down and back, not fitting her at all.

Should I conform the garment to the prefitter before transferring the morphs? The directions say to do that, but the example does not.

Do not conform the garment to the Prefitter before transferring the morphs. That's throwing it off. I double checked the instructions. If you conform before copying the morphs, unconform after copying to put the garment back to zero.

I'm still not getting good results. Here's with no conforming:

Are you using the base or developer version? I'm using the base version.

That's without the La Femme morph in the bodysuit applied. (It's transferred, just set to 0.) As soon as I set it to 1, it looks like the first image I posted.

I just quickly converted V4 bodysuit to La Femme and nearly got a very close fit although I got poke throughs under the arms and behind one calf. In this case, hiding body parts will alleviate the problem. If I wanted an exact fit then before taking the clothing to the fitting room, remove the poke throughs with the morphing brush. if need be, using the V4 bodysuit morphs to closely match La Femme. Once in the Fitting Room, reduce your iterations to 10 and work your way up. Iteration 40 is too much and will deform the clothing.

Edit: There are other morphs to help fix the clothing. Consider loading those also into the clothing.

I think the feet in the suit is throughing everything off.

randym77 ( ) posted Sat, 28 September 2019 at 10:47 PM

The results are the same with the DAZ morphing bodysuit, and with the hooded cowl.

I must be screwing something up. It's like clothing has a different origin from the figure.

I'm using the regular LaFemme and not conforming at all during the prefitting process. The LaFemme morph should make the garment match LaFemme closely. If it's way off, something has gone wrong.

I was able to convert 3D-Age's Bodysuit II without much problems. BodysuitII.jpg

Something has definitely gone wrong, but dang if I can figure out what it is. I've tried with the original La Femme and the 1R1 version, with IK on and off, with different items of clothing. They all end up too far back, and too low. I'm completely baffled.

This is the DAZ bodysuit:

That looks really good, willdial.
