Subject: Just installed 11.2.289 and the library is messed up

HKHan99 ( ) posted Wed, 02 October 2019 at 10:51 PM · edited Mon, 28 October 2024 at 12:08 PM

Pauline2 won't load, is missing files, parts are missing from 3rd party clothing items and they appear in the pose window but not in the figure or item lists and can't be selected. I tried to submit a ticket but after spending a long time filling in the form and playing captcha, the form won't submit.

Should I (can I???) roll back to .272 or whatever it was? Reinstall 289? Is there a fix for this?

Figure partially loading, displayed in the scene but can't be selected, that sounds like a corrupted figure file (CR2) I don't think this is actually a issue in Poser but the content. Before you try rolling back Poser see it reinstalling the content fixes it. I'm not seeing the issue but I'm not sure of your system setup.

Also on the support form, was there an error and what web browser are you using?

I re-downloaded 2.289 and reinstalled it, same problem. It effects several figures besides Pauline. The content worked fine before I updated from 11.2.272 or whatever it was, but I guess it got rewritten in the update.

The support forum didn't show an error, it just wouldn't do anything when I clicked 'submit.' I'm using Chrome. You wouldn't happen to know where I would find the 'build number' would you?

Pauline and most of the other figures is part of the legacy content. None of that has changed on the last several updates. It still sounds like a content issue. If you can, please post a screen shot of what you're seeing.

If you haven't reinstalled the legacy content, especially the install minimum basic and Paul and Pauline, do so. Apparently some files which are missing in the original Poser install.exe are located in those.

Pauline and the others worked fine when I upgraded to 11.2. I did not install the legacy content zip. Why has upgrading to 11.2.289 wrecked her? And she's still in the Poser Content Library- but apparently no longer all of her.

My screen simply shows a blank Pose field with Pauline2 (or Pauline or Roxy) listed as the figure.

Okay, I'll try that. Thanks.

That didn't work, but a reinstall of the whole program to a different folder did- kinda. I am now having some trouble sorting out the libraries, because I created a folder on my secondary drive for the Poser 11 Content library. The main installer only seems to install 3rd party items in this, so Poser reverted to looking at the old content install in Public Documents, which apparently did not get deleted with the old program version. I changed the name of that runtime so it would be ignored, and ran the Support installer, which seems to have most of the Poser 11 Content Library in it, but it only has one option- install to default library, and apparently it disagrees that that is the default library. I'm not sure where it put the contents, but not in there. How do I tell the installer where the default library is?

I'm not sure what the original source of the problem is, but I am finding that the 'missing files' are almost all exactly where they are supposed to be, and if I manually guide the library loader to them, it solves that particular problem. I downloaded the program installer twice and had the same problem both times, so I think that if something is corrupt, it's in the program, not a transmission error. If anyone else has installed 11.2.289 on a windows 10 machine, I'd be interested to know if you can duplicate the problem on Paul, Pauline, or Roxy.

I ran into this issue myself. A lot of content in my Poser 11 content folder went missing and could not be found when I was loading Poser projects.

I had to grab backups of my poser content libraries and copy them. I added LEGACY to each content folder name (e.g. "Legacy Poser 11 Content Folder").

I then installed 11.2 fresh (without specifying any previous content folders during install).

I then added my legacy content folders to my Poser 11.2 content library.

I was then able to load my projects without issue, but wow.

I've had similar issues. I can't load certain pieces of clothing into scenes which worked fine in PP2014, and PP11 can't locate the files associated with many other pieces of clothing. I'll direct PP11 to the proper directories, and usually the scene works, but if I save and re-load the scene, PP11 can't find the clothing again. This is honestly getting ridiculous. I wouldn't have upgraded if I knew there would be so many issues.

In your preferences make sure the search is set to deep.

Edit> Preferences ... On the library tab. Shallow or none can cause poser to not find stuff that seems to be right where it should be.
