Subject: Black spots or shadows when figures are touching.

I'm working with V4 and whenever she touches another object or person it causes a black shadow on her in the render. I've tried to remove the shadow but that doesn't help. It's frustrating. Has anyone had this issue?

I agree. Let us see the visual. Unless you fixed it

Render type, Render settings, light settings also useful. Are you using SSS, Displacement, AO, IBL, IDL?

The spots or shadows are subtle but for me they are not clean looking. I could fix with photoshop but I feel like theres something in poser I could correct. Thanks. hhh10.pnghhh10 copy.pngScreen Shot 2019-12-20 at 12.02.00 AM.png

I can't really see anything out of place, your shadows seem to be correct, however you could try turning on indirect lighting That would eliminate some of the harsher shadows. (start with a setting of 7 and play around with it until you find a setting that is good for you).

Another thought is to try adjusting or turning off the AO settings. Also check to see if any lights use depth map shadows and if so try a larger mask or switch to ray-trace instead. If the option is available you could try using a large area light to make the shadows softer.

I see what he means. Look at the shadow on her chest, cast by her collar. It looks "dirty."

I remember this problem with Firefly, but it's been so long I don't recall the solution. Maybe decrease the min. shading rate? I usually render with it set to .05, sometimes .01.

The overall scene is too bright; I'm noticing the absence of shadows in the background. Check the figure and props for any active ambient settings in the material room. If you are not using Subsurface Scatter on any of the objects, turn it off in the render settings. Actually, turn that off completely, it might be contributing too much glow. In the render settings, turn down the Min Shading rate to, at least, 0.1; your present setting is too high. Also, try applying AO in your lights. Without seeing all your other Poser settings (lights and materials) it's hard to determine where the problem is actually occurring. I find the lack of shadows disturbing.
