Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 31 7:44 am)
Can I say, first and foremost, please use a dynamic piece purchased from one of the excellent vendors who really do dynamic clothing properly. Mesh Density and Design really affect a successful simulation, and when you are trying to learn something, it's important to eliminate potential problems that you can probably avoid or fix when you have some experience, with a well designed product.
Second, with the advent of Poser 11 it's necessary to set up your simulation and then SAVE the file before running the sim. Most instructions you find in tutorials will not mention this as it only became an necessity with P11..
Here's a cloth room tutorial to get you started: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/tutorial_premium/?page=info&tutorial=11
If you get V4's dynamic clothing to fit LaFemme decently in the starting pose, you can use that! You can use scaling and translating on the clothing, and if needed, morph brush or magnets for a better fit. Avoid pokethroughs.
Edit: I was gonna walk you through it but Glitterati beat me to it - better use an actual tutorial

You can download Frequency's tutorials from Freestuff.
I second what Glitterati said about starting with a dynamic product specifically made for La Femme as you are not likely to have issues interfering with learning how to use dynamics. I believe there is dynamic clothing for La Femme included with the Poser update. Also, vendors will almost always include any special instructions for their product as well if needed. Later you can experiment fitting items from other figures and/or freestuff clothing.
Should you run into any problems you're sure to find help in the forum.
Have fun :)
If you want to use V4 based dynamic clothing on La Femme, you can use the prefitter with LaFemme injection to make the initial fit. Use the Prefitter cr2 as collision object and in a sim morph to the La Femme shape.
Alternative idea, not tested yet: Load the Prefitter cr2 and La Femme into the scene, zero La Femme. in the Prefitter set LaFemme morph to 1.0 so Prefitter lines up with LaFemme and copy the V4 to LaFemme morph from the Prefitter into La Femme. Delete the Prefitter and in La Femme set that morph to -1.0 at the start of the simulation (the garment should then more or less fit La Femme. and to 0.0 somewhere in the run of the sim. LF will then gradially morph from roughly V4 shape to her own shape. Of course if you save the LF to V4 morph for La Femme you need to do the copy from the Prefitter only once.
Keep in mind that for dynamic clothing size is important. If you try to sim an XXL size model into an M size garment, the result will be an M size garment spanning around an XXL person. The garment does not grade up. Likewise, pants that would stay put on an L size figure end up around the ankles of an M size figure, unless you make the belt constrained.
There is conforming clothing available in the Marketplace. Please buy some so vendors will keep making it. I also started a thread on converting clothes to conform to La Femme, including making dynamic clothing into conforming figures.
I'm going to contradict RobZhena here. Do NOT use conforming clothing as dynamic clothing. I agree with Glitterrati. Use a product from a vendor who specializes in dynamic clothing. In fact, I have a listing in my Directory under "Clothing" that will give you a list of vendors who specialize in dynamic clothing. Dynamic Clothing Vendors
Make sure that your starting and finishing poses do not intersect ANYWHERE on the cloth or figure. Also make sure that there is a good amount of distance between the figure and the actual clothing. Your clothing does not have to actually touch the figure anywhere to collide with it.

Actually he was talking about doing the opposite. His instructions turned dynamic clothing into conforming.

My apologies then.

The cloth room is actually quite good at 'curing' moderate poke-thru provided the conditions are right. Keep in mind the garment is described only in the vertex points. At every step, vertex points are checked whether they are not within the collision figure. When they are, they are moved to outside the nearest surface, which, if the distance between opposite sides of the figure is small, could be on the 'wrong' side of the figure. Hands and wrists are notorious for this, as are ankles and feet. Pokes on body parts clothing contacts most frequently: arms, legs, body and neck, usually are ironed out just fine.
Defined genitalia, ears, and any location where skin has complex folds are best stayed clear from. Sometimes they form a maze that clothing vertices cannot escape from.
On the question if there are conforming clothing items for LaFemme: there's quite the number in her store section, and a few in the freestuff area.
Her store section: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/?TopID=807077
(There are all kinds of items for her there, including conforming clothing - but also dynamic clothing, hair, characters, accessories, poses...)

Yeah probably the only thing I'd add to Renderosity site itself would be specific categories. Like, the ability to get to La Femme's products and then specify that you want hair for her, for instance.

Ohki You can do that the other way round. Go to the 3d figure essentials, select hair, select female, select LaFemme. I know this was just an example but you can go to the item type then select LaFemme, sometimes you might have to narrow the item type to female before LaFemme turns up on the list to select.

Wait really? I gotta try that - thanks!

Although I have been using Poser since Poser 4 I have never been successful using dynamic clothing! However with La Femme I would like to give it a go! Firstly do I have to use Dynamic Clothing especially made for La Femme or can I use Victoria 4's Dynamic Clothing? I have lots of her dynamic clothing plus other Poser Figures Dynamic Clothing. Also can anyone point me to a step by step tutorial I mean step by step as I am a not young and my brain is getting old and I am a total dummy when it comes to Dynamics.Cheers
