The material room not expandable??? You can float the node window it and make it as big as your screen will allow or if using it docked just drag the edges to make it bigger.

Since when?? I've been complaining about that for years. Not as vociferously as of late perhaps, but still... Wait, you're not talking about scrollable, are you?

No I mean like this

mat screen 1.jpg

or this

mat screen 2.jpg

I can't get all that real estate on my screen. What size screen resolution do you use?

Nails60 ( ) posted Mon, 10 February 2020 at 6:32 AM

250 x 1440 on this machine, but it's the basic idea that you can re-size the node window I was trying to show.

EClark1894 ( ) posted Mon, 10 February 2020 at 7:00 AM

250?

Since at least P10/2014. P9/2012 I think, but not sure 'cause I don't have it installed anymore. But every window/pallet is floatable/scalable. Can arrange them any way you want.

Oops I meant 2560 x 1440

Thanks, Wolf, but assuming I still have to texture anything to see how it actually looks in real time, I don't actually expect it to be much different as I truly suck at texturing anything thing I make. That's why I abandon many of the projects I start. It's truly a PITA to texture anything for Cycles in Poser. Poser doesn't have all the nodes I need, and it doesn't read Blender files. And I can't really recreate anything I texture for Cycles in Poser because 1) Missing nodes, and 2) Grouping and ungrouping nodes in the material room is a new adventure everytime. The missing nodes wouldn't bother me so much if they didn't jump around like Mexican jumping beans when they're ungrouped, and the material room was expandable so I could lay things out without scrolling. Then I could at least find workarounds and alternatives to the missing nodes.

You might be interested in this superfly tutorial by Dimension3D:

https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/?ViewProduct=112622

It goes over the fundamentals of the SF renderer and all the nodes with examples, should help you find solutions to the missing nodes issue and how it's addressed in Poser.

There was also a webinar on youtube that Chuck did a couple years back, not sure if it's still available or not tho.

It's no longer available, but I know the one you're talking about. Will check out the Dimension 3D video you mentioned.

Is there a way to make the nodes smaller, so that they all fit in the window? Like this?

In Poser, the Nodes are waaayyy to big.

Also, older laptop. Won't go up to 1250X 1400 resolution.

Blender has a zoom function for that editor.

Does P11???

Isn't it just the mouse wheel to zoom?

That said, while I cannot try it now, there was something about the Poser node room that really annoyed me, so it was probably that. Been a while since I used it and can't remember now.

EClark1894 ( ) posted Mon, 10 February 2020 at 4:02 PM

I already complained about this in a new thread. The material room window, if it will zoom, I can't find it.
