Blender F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 17 9:25 pm)
Looks like he used Ngons for the flat surfaces and the normals and triangulation got messed up. Are the holes in the sides supposed to look like that? This just seems like a problem with the triangulation and normals after exporting. If you can upload the OBJ, I could have a look at the topology in Blender and see if I can fix it for you. Otherwise, he may need to remodel this and avoid using Ngons and make sure the normals are all facing the right way before exporting.

Not sure what your model is meant to look like (a render in Blender might help) but in any case, in Blender, you might wish to confirm that all faces are pointing the same way. Also, keep in mind that typically, objects exported from Blender into Poser will need to be resized to 1/10th, as Poser's native size is ridiculously small.

I am almost 100% sure the top of that cylindrical shape is a Ngon it either needs to be converted into tris or quads Poser does not handle ngons well at all a render of the model of in Blender would be helpful like suggest by RobynsVeil

thanks i will need to know where to send the file though
I'm a bit late late to the party on this one, but yes, definitely looks like ngons, which Poser and Daz Studio refuse to render properly. Any object intended for use in Poser or DS absolutely must be made up of quads and/or triangles. Also, Blender's .obj export function is basically borked. I had serious issues recently with getting a Blender mesh to render correctly in DS. It was all triangles too. I imported the Blender exported object into Wings and exported it straight out again. It then worked fine in DS.
