Subject: Gens for L'Homme?

inquire ( ) posted Wed, 29 April 2020 at 1:18 PM · edited Fri, 08 November 2024 at 6:30 AM

I was looking at Tempesta3D's figure for L'Homme, and I noticed that she mentions there are genital maps for L'Homme, but I can't find any genitals for the fellow. Do people just use the M4 gens, or am I overlooking something? Is there something in the Content Folder, or is there something I would need to purchase?

Hi. 😄

the Gens and the mats for those gens, along with body morphs, starter poses and a few other items are in the PRO version of the figure HERE

Hope this helps. 😄

L'Homme has naughty bits. But there's a safe for kids version of the figure without genitals.

You might have to buy the full figure to get the genitals. I think the versions of LF and LH that come with Poser are no gens.

Oh, I see. So I do have to buy something. I didn't realize that. Starter poses? There is or was a universal pose feature in Poser that let poses for figures like V3 be applied to V4. Does this work for L'Homme? Can I apply an M4 or a D3 pose to L'Homme? Or, do we have to start all over again with new poses?

I've used V4 poses with LF. I assume M4 poses would work reasonably well with LH. Try it!

Sometimes the hands and feet get a little weird, because of the extra joints they have in their hands and feet, but it's easy to adjust them.

OK, thanks for the info.

Gens with pro version of L'Homme, Poser no longer supports Universal Poses.

Oh, well that's a shame! I really liked the Universal Poses feature. With DAZ Studio **(Dare I mention that?)** there are a number of Pose Translation products, so M4 poses can be converted to Genesis, to Genesis 2, to Genesis 3, and to Genesis 8. That makes buying poses much more useful over a number of generations and figures.

Correct V4/M4 and V3/M3 poses go on LAFemme and l'Homme reasonably well. It helps to make a master dial that puts LF/LH in a pose that matches the source figure. Align arms and legs. It saves you time tweaking each pose separately.

LF and LH have a waist actor between hip and abdomen. In some cases you may need to distribute the rotations of V4/M4 abdomen over LF/LH waist and abdomen.

OK, thank you. But what does "helps to make a master dial that puts LF/LH in a pose that matches the source figure" mean? What is involved in making that "master dial"?

I get the part about distributing the rotations between the waist and the abdomen.
