Agree, but imagine if that technology somehow could be thrown into Poser or other 3D apps so you could work with that amount of details in realtime, without the need to having to render all the time :D

1. What kind of monster HW will be required for this?
2. Can it read imported SubD, or do I gotta export out as 1-1?
3. Quad-friendly, or (like damned near every other engine) tris-only-dammit? Easy enough to convert, but...
4. rig export/import would be nice, but I bet there's gonna be an intermediate step (unless FBX?) only gotta do it once for a given mesh, tho'
5. Playstation 5 is going to involve some beaucoup specific-engineered video hardware (and will require some seriously stripped-down input piping to maximize things, so #3 is answered...), so how would this work on PC-grade non-specialized GPU gear?

I want it anyway.

Last time I dorked around in the Unreal Engine in any depth was way back in 2000-2001... this is an entirely new thing indeed.

Daz inc has pubilcly announced they will be soon supporting the open source realtime engine from google called "Filament"

The future of 3D/CG character related production is in REALTIME (or near realtime) for both lookdev and Final rendering. and it wont be happening in expensive subscription based Bloatware ,with year 2002 quality viewport display, Like Maxon C4D.?
