Hey all! FreeBass here (but ya can just call me Free)... pleased to meet y'all.

I'ma try a idea here; as ya may know already (or coulda guessed from the title of this post) I make Freebies of the musical variety... mostly. What I'd like to try here is set up a request line of sorts where y'all can tell me what ya tink I should make next/ add to my To-Do list. I'll tell ya straight up front that I may or may not get to (or even consider) any particular request, but my thinkin' is that yr input just may put me onto leads/ ideas that I may have overlooked on my own. I will lay down a few criteria though to help you avoid wastin' yr breath (so to speak) by requestin' anythin' I'll flat out reject;

I ent doin' poses. I'm of the belief that by usin' a program called POSER (& by extension DS) one should... you know... pose stuff. And anyway I find that preset poses are only good fer a jumpin' off point to create yr own from, so yeah... lotsa those to be had elsewhere.

I won' make Strats, Les Pauls, Precision or Jazz basses. Bassically ferget Fender & Gibson altogether. Like poses there are already many to be had from other sources. I might even be tempted to tell ya where to find 'em if ya ask nicely ;)

And like those instruments I just mentioned, don't ask fer ANYTHING that there is already 100 of out there (or even one or two if they's really good & easy to find), musical or otherwise. I'm not out to "one up" anybody's offerings, I'd rather carve my own niche out. Again, if I know where to find anythin' specific ya weren't aware of, I just might tell ya where to find it. Consider it me payin' it back to the creators who supplied me before I began makin' my own stuff :)

Cables. I know, I know... everone wants cables (shup, TK), & they ARE on my To-Do list. They just ent a high priority to me.

Nothin' overly complex. Don' bother askin' fer a highly detailed/ accurate workin' 426 Hemi engine. I could prob'ly do it, but it'll take a lotta time away from other projects & I kinda like to try to find a balance between quantity & quality. Sumpin' would suffer by takin' on such a project.

Nothin' squishy. I do Hard Surface Modellin', so no ppl or critters or clothes or hair or anythin' like that. Not my bag.

OK, I don' wanna write a whole book on what I won't do so let's see what WILL grab my attention. First off, despite what I just said 'bout what I won' do, if ya can give me a compellin' reason to model anythin' specific I might consider it. I did do one Gibson already after all (& have a SG on The List).

Next if ya peruse my Freebies coughcoughshamelessplugcough you'll notice I try to avoid "bland" or "normal" instruments unless they have a personal connection to me or I tink I can get away w/ a generic or personally branded version (like my speakers fer example). So yeah... better luck gettin' Dime's Dean From Hell than Eddie's Frankenstrat. Yes, Eddie's is unique, but is also essentally just a glorified Strat.

Got a custom design of yr own ya want propped up? Post a sketch (or shoot me a PM if ya wanna keep it private until the Grand Reveal) & mebbe we can work sumpin' out.

Do ya really REALLY want a (X)? Ya could significantly improve yr chances by doin' my homework fer me; supply me w/ a ton (as many good views as possible, anyway) of large, HQ reference pics to work from & ya just might get the VIP treatment.

I also figger this could be a good place to share a few tips/ tricks & mebbe some Q&A if anyone has any Q's they want A'd. I even has a tip right here that ent substantial enough to do any kinda tutorial on, but is sumpin' applicable to most of my own models that I rarely see anyone do. It has to do w/ posin'...

Ya wanna add a small detail that really sells yr guitar/ bass player pics? Don' ferget to use morfs on the backs of the hands fer the finger tendons if ya have 'em (I believe they tend to come in Muscle Morf Expansions since V/M3). Just make a claw-ish pose w/ yr own hand if yr not a player & notice how these tendons stand out & try to replicate that in yr hand pose. Simple, but effective :)

And finally (thought the long-winded bastard would never shut up, din' ya?), as a Canadian I'm honour bound to apologize in advance fer anythin' I say or do that may inadvertently offend ya. Honest, I ent tryin' to be a dick, it just comes naturally. So I'm sorry fer anythin' I have said or will say in the future that gets anyone's panties in a bunch. But the first motherfucker that makes that "Aboot" crack is gonna GET a boot! A frozen one... right in the fuckin' taint! Prob'ly the 2nd, 3rd, 4th... OK, any mofo that makes that joke :P
