Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 10 1:16 pm)
There may not be an easy fix, I'm afraid. The problem people run into with Poser 8 is that it used Flash for the library. Some people got it to work by installing an old version of Flash, and applying the latest updates to Poser 8, but that is a security risk, and not recommended. Flash is going away very soon anyway.
You could run Poser 8 without the library, using Explorer instead. It's clunky, but it works.
Another issue you might run into is that Windows 10 doesn't like the runtime installed where Poser used to install it, in Program Files. If you put it somewhere else, that should fix it.
Upgrading to the current version of Poser is probably the best thing to do. You can try it free for 21 days, and there's upgrade pricing.

Thanks randym77, I'm seriously considering the upgrade, just got to see if i can justify the expense even though its a lot cheaper than I expected.

Hi everyone, Ive been away from poser for many years and finally have the need to get back to it but have discovered that there have been many changes since my poser 8. I understand that smith micro is no longer as far as Poser is concerned. So far Ive discovered that it doesn't like windows 10. Is there a work around. I have tried to get it to run under compatibility for windows vista but i don't think my graphics card liked it and I'm so desperate to get it working again.
Thanks everso much, sorry if this is in the wrong place but just had no idea where to put my query
kind regards
Gilly
