Welcome to the Poser Forums! Need help with these versions, advice on upgrading? Etc...you've arrived at the right place!

I think, though not positive, that Snarly's already committed to updating EZDome and EZSkin, with the possibility of updating the rest of his scripts going forward.

OK . . . Where's my chocolate?
Hello,
The current state of play is this:
EZDome This is converted to Python 3, but is waiting upon a small bug fix in Poser before it can be released. Hopefully it will be ready soon.
EZSkin 3 This is also converted to Python 3, but no longer seems to produce useful results in Superfly due to the change in Cycles nodes. Consequently, Its future is uncertain. I would, however, welcome testers who could help investigate the extent of the problems to see if there might be an easy fix. Certainly, a complete rewrite isn't going to happen any time soon.
EZSkin 4 This has never been released, and its status is similar to that of EZSkin 3, i.e. we'll have to wait and see how relevant it is in the final version of Poser 12.
EZCompiler and EZIcons These tools are used by Python programmers, so won't be as well-known as some of my other scripts. Still, they are both converted to Python 3 and working fine.
The other main script that I'd like to update for Poser 12 is The Snow Machine, but it is dependent upon micropoly displacement being available. That is not yet available, but I remain hopeful that it will be eventually.
I am also looking at some of Dimension 3D's scripts. The D3D eXtended Library (XL) Manager is already converted, and ready for testing (volunteers?). The next on the list is the eXtended Shader (XS) tool, and that is only partially converted, and so not yet ready for testing.

I understand and I would like to thnak you for everything, honestly and wholeheartedly. I'm astonished and find it disturbing that the preview still can't rapidly interpret cycles-based mat setting, making the characters look white-gray... I would be interested in having them setup using one of the two others root nodes.
I've often used this: posersurface nodes setup to set the whole scene, then for a final render turn them white using the cycles-based setup.

Thank you for popping in and updating us, Snarly. Many thanks for the years of amazing tools without which I am comfortable saying, many of us would have produced much worse renders. Your generous spirit and easy to use tools are gratefully appreciated.
The Cycles nodes issue is certainly disturbing, as it basically means as I feared, any files with skins before Poser 12 now would need to be built back from the ground up, and for those of us who are not versed in the Node Cult, this is basically hours and hours of frustrating tinkering, which, frankly, am not sure is worth using Poser 12.

this skin shader for ezskin3 still works except that you need to turn up the roughness on both glossy channels to .7 on the default settings.

Thanks Royston! That's great news. I have Ralf's XL, and would love to try the updated version out!

YAY!!! I've been using it the past 2 days with my P11, so glad to hear it's going to work in P12 as well.

I thought this needs its separate thread. As I've sighed about in my quick first impressions thread, due to the Pyhon upgrade to Poser 12, basically all scripts of my workflow stopped working. I'm no programmer, nor do I have the spare time to learn Python, working full time and being a mom prevents that. I know there was a discussion back in a few months ago when the news about Python 3 adoption came out first, of updating the various EZ scripts which are part of many Poser users' repertoire.
Who else would be interested and possibly offer cookies for getting this accomplished? I was afraid this will be lost amongst the various threads and I hope Snarlygribbly sees this thread and knows he has some adoring fans who miss his talent terribly.
