This is a follow-up to the first email. I think the problem might be related to the problem with the dock and floating panel option. I ran 12 and 11.3 simultaneously. With 12, when I dock the document window, it virtually jumps off the page and become very constrained. I can float it and drag it to full size, but when I dock it, it again jumps into this very constrained mode. This seems to be related to the other palettes like parameters wanting to dock immediately if I move them.
So, if there isn't an easy answer to this, I will probably reinstall Poser 12. I think that I probably did something unbeknownst to me that seriously screwed it up.
It was already unchecked. The only difference that I noticed between 12 and 11.3 in General Preferences-Render was that Maxed Cache Renders was 200 for 12 and 100 for 11.3. I tried changing 200 to 100, but that did not solve the problem.
What I notice is that the document window is docking like the other palettes and the other palettes are docking like document window. So when docked, document window is squeezed off and the other palettes are eager to dock and take up half the page when they do.
When I export an image, it is truncated, completely black, and only about 12 kb rather than about 150 kb for the correct exported image. When I dock the document window, I get a message in document window that the scene palette is restrained and cannot be changed numerically. I can resize it with the mouse, but if I try to export an image after docking it and resizing it with the mouse, I get the same black image. The docking behavior for the palettes acts like it is reversed. The document window doesn't want to dock when I move it around and is squeezed off when it does dock. The other palettes want to dock immediately when I move them at all and take up half the page when docked. If the document window is docked, the other palette will take up more space than the document window when I dock it.
I recently emailed another problem to the forum. I couldn't find my animation palette. It didn't show up in the pose window room, but I could see it in the material room. Turns out, it was hiding behind the document window in the pose room. I moved the animation palette to the front, fixing that problem, but now I have this problem.
When I dock the parameter palette, it blocks a portion of the document window rather than decreasing the document window to make space for itself which is what I see in 11.3.
This is an example of the exported image that I get. I simply took an image, imported it and then exported it. The exported file is 10 kb.
The docking of the preview window in P12 is completely off. In P11.3 that window docked as a full panel, not constrained as you describe it. I don't know if anyone has reported that problem and whether it's on its way to being corrected. I might go ahead and report it anyway. Your best workaround for this problem is to click on one of the buttons on the UI Dots to save the workspace as you want it. As for your second problem, I suggest that you open the recent renders panel and look at what is being saved as cached files. Clicking on any of those thumbnail images will appear in your render window. Then you can export your render.
I reinstalled p12 (12/22 update). I removed existing preferences. The document window and other palettes seem to float and dock appropriately. However, when I try to export an image, I get the same file with a black image which is only 10 kb where my other images are typically 150 kb. I don't think that I was having this problem before I installed the 12/22 update. I know that I have exported images successfully using p12. I also don't have this problem with p11.3 which I still have installed. I have a Dell XPS 8930 with an NVidia GeForce GTX 1050.
I have barely started using PP12 and I was having no problem exporting images in PP11. I imagine that sometimes bugs are caused by issues outside of Poser which interfere with Poser. Dell did an update and the problem exporting images seemed to be fixed after that. I'm not a great historian when it comes to problems with my computer.

When I export an image in poser 12, I get a file that is a black screen. In poser 11.3, it's OK. The exported image in poser 12 is about 12 kb. In poser 11.3, 150 kb. The height of the black screen image is also reduced. I also notice that floating palettes keep on wanting to dock whenever I move them in the least. I was not having this problem in poser 12, and now I am having it. It doesn't seem to matter if I am exporting in jpg format or another format. The document window size is the same in both programs.
Please let me know if you have any ideas how to fix this. Thanks.
