the studio comes on fast but when you try to start to load a character, it will just stay at 50% load time maybe for an hour's? any ideas, besides starting over with a new install. I think it's looking for something, but what. thank's

I meant to say that the slider reading asset stops at about 50% DAZ studio 4.14

A couple of questions... What character are you trying to load? How many characters of the same generation do you have installed? Does the character eventually load or does it never proceed further than 50%?

It sounds like your load process is stopping during the morph loading procedure. My first step would be to check the Error Log (Help > Troubleshootiing > Error Log) and see if that gleans any useful information. After that I would try uninstalling the last character / morphs you installed.

Jason the log file was super big, as of the 15th of this month genesis 8f was not recognized. this must have been most of my problem.it tells me to reinstall g8f? also I have way too many g8f items.

That sounds like the culprit.

For the log file, if I am having issues, I have DS open it, then I close DS with the log file still open. I delete everything from the log and save the file where it was. Next time I open DS there should only be entries from that latest use. Makes it easier to trouble shoot problems.

System specs matter. how much RAM, which graphic card? What worked perfectly fine with Daz 4.9 4.10 has slowed considerably with 4.14, 4.15. Unless you have an RTX card stick with an older version of studio. I'm still using 4.10. I'm not using Genesis 8.1 either.

This has nothing to do with video cards and most likely not system RAM.

When a G8 figure, or character, is loaded, all the applicable morphs load with it. The more morphs installed, the longer the figure takes to load into the scene.

However, in the case of the OP, they appear to have a bad morph or G8 install. Checking the log file would help in finding where the load is failing. The load of the G8 figure has very little to do with system RAM or system specs.

To be clear the actual morph deltas don't load only pointers to all the available morphs.

People are reporting that having 500 or more characters / morph packages installed can result in G8 taking 2-3 minutes to load. I know, because I had ~800 odd installed and it was taking just over two minutes.

Other people are reporting times of 5, 10, even upwards of an hour.
