suggested render settings for P12:

In P11, use maybe 30 pixel samples. P12 can use much higher if adaptive sampling with threshold is set (I used 0.003) because Superfly will consider a pixel which hasn't changed in the last several raytraces to be finished, and skip it thereafter, concentrating on those areas which still need refinement.

These test shots were done with the final prop set (OBJs extracted, etc), exactly what is packed in the freestuff zip:

The preset "!Grey Ship at sea.pp2" calls two of Lisa’s Botanicals products. For somebody who do not have these, you get a lot of "file not found" errors. A preset without these (like the planter.pp2's) would fix this.

!Grey Ship at sea.pp2 the ship mooring ropes are visible, (easily fixed by turning their visibility off.)

Question. Are Lisa’s Botanicals products available? Specially the tulips and cherry trees.

My apologies. The visible mooring ropes mentioned above was my error, some how they got left in when I cleared the stage before loading !Grey Ship at sea. Sorry please ignore my remark.

Good point; I have updated the zip so that now it has both !Grey Ship in harbor and !Grey Ship in harbor w LB plants preloads.

This set is much bigger than the default construct, so set each camera's yon higher:

I don't know if Lisa's plants will be transferred to Renderosity's store; she died recently, and featuring them in this set was a sort of remembrance to her.

For those who have downloaded the Grey Havens, watch the freestuff for an SR3 for the Grey Havens. It corrects the grid artefact on the harbor water, fixes a UV smear at the corners of the pier steps, etc. I also have a little skiff (small sailboat) and a ferryboat with a horse bay nearing completion.

Note that the grid artefact which showed on the water surface is fixed, as is the UV smear at the corner of the pier steps.

The redux of the Withywindle ferry includes lap strakes for the hull and UV-unwrapping of the railing scrollwork. I'm not satisfied with the bow wave, or even the harbor water at this angle of camera and sun. Harry the HiveWire horse stands in the central well.

Corrected the loss of UVs on the ferry's hull strakes and rail filigree, now working on the water material...

After re-extracting the OBJs, etc., I'll upload an SR3 for Grey Havens. The ferry boat and the skiff will be separate uploads.

Yay! I've only rarely seen renders made using anything I've made; it's neat to see what someone does with it.

The depth of field has plenty of distance in which to work.
