Subject: Legacy content figures are black, and textureless

Dorklord ( ) posted Sun, 12 July 2020 at 6:20 PM · edited Thu, 21 November 2024 at 3:04 AM

Hey there all, I'm a Poser 11 noob ( bought Poser Pro 64 bit yesterday) and can't seem to get the legacy figures to load properly in Poser ( Pauline, Paul, etc). When I do they are black and featureless.

I included the prompt I keep getting as well, asking for "Eyelash-Trans" afterwards. When I click through all the prompts that ask for files it says the files couldn't be found. Obviously I'm totally missing something.

Any pointers would be wonderful, and very appreciated. Everything else aside from the Legacy stuff loads fine.

System Specs: Windows 10 64 bit, Intel Core i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz, 32.0 GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti

Thank you!

I would say off hand that you may not have either downloaded or installed all the files for the legacy content ... Once the files are installed you will have your textures and mat files. Let us know if that fixes your issue.

Hi Boni,

I really appreciate the response. Ill try downloading them again, maybe I missed something. Maybe I'm not installing correctly. I was using "install from zip archive", I guess that wasn't right? Sorry for the floundering noobsauce.

Wow, structure - thank you for compiling all that! Hopefully I can muscle through and figure it out - it's all new.

Dorklord ( ) posted Sun, 12 July 2020 at 7:29 PM

I redownloaded them, all of them. All the bonus content that's on the official site under downloads.

I select "Install from ZIP Archive" from the drop down menu and install them to Poser 11 content. Is that right, or am I missing something drastic. I must be. Sorry for all the questions y'all .

I got it to work for now. Still not 100% sure how, hehe.

Thanks everyone for the speedy help, I really appreciate it!

Hello together, Could somebody help me? I would need the Poser Pro 2008 service release 1.2 for Windows. Does somebody has this file? Since Content Paradise done and Smith Micro is no longer responsible for poser, the service release are vanished from the internet.

Thank You for Your help in advance!!

Had this issue myself with Genesis 8 figures not only did mine turn black but they got spagettified like I had black hole lurking somewhere in the scene, I couldn't figure it out in Poser 11 so I did a new install and that fixed it

I'm surprised your having any trouble with legacy content that's weird.b018592d8a968d3a6f7ebad10aaf176b_large.jpg

Hello together,

Would it be possible to upload the service releases again?
I would need the Poser Pro 2010 SR1 and Queue Manager 2010 SR1 (WINDOWS) ...

Sadly the links above are not working any more...

Does anybody has the "PoserFusion 2010 SR 1.2 for C4D - 19.6 MB (.zip)" file too?

Thank You very much for Your great help in advance!

Have a nice day!

As mentioned in another thread, Poser Pro 2010 needs Adobe Flash Player to make the library work.  Adobe discontinued development and support for the Flash Player years ago. As a result, Poser Pro 2010 will no longer work.

Hello DeeceyArt,

Thank You very much for Your answer!
I have checked the running program and the Adobe AIR is used for Poser Pro 2010. So it is supported and running on Windows 10 too!

I would like to ask if someone could have the service releases for the Poser Pro 2010 and the Cinema4D Poser Fusion Plug-in of Poser Pro 2010 and could share it...

Thank You very much for Your help in advance!

Regards,

BáLiNt

There is no need to post multiple threads about this. The older files are no longer available legally as far as I know. Poser Furion is no longer in development either.
