So I started to get a little more serious about rendering last night. A few hours on the web led me to a nice global lighting setup in Max and that led to 4 hours or so of messing with scenes and depth of field. What I need now are some good pin-up poses, ones that have really paid a lot of attention to the knees/elbows and ground. Anyone have any they can point me at? I don;t mind paying but this has to be really good. I don't need 200 poses ... just 5 or six "centerfold" style that need very little post work.

Bbay has Digiports "Betty Page Inspired Pinup Poses." They look pretty good but there's 75 of 'em and the set is $29.95. It says they're for Supermodel Vicky but should work with Victoria with some minor tweaking.

well, well - the only thing you need is just mailing me ... You might know I've done really a lot of poses ... If you have images ... just mail them also (but please compress them before - I don't need a 1000 x 1000 pixel - model - image - lol). If you don't have images - I've made much so-called-pin-up-poses ... In middle of November my website will be back - than you can preview all poses. It just takes me a few mins to do such poses ... please state also the figure you want to be posed. Of course you can also buy my CD (if you want) - but ... on this are more than 5000 poses :o). Mail: eyeblink@yourwap.com (please use that one) Schlabber

Schlabber, you are the master. I was fortunate enough to download the entire contents of your Posing is an Art web site. Now you say your CD contains all the more poses and stuff? I was impressed with the web site. I will be more impressed with the CD Now how much is your CD?

Schlabber ( ) posted Wed, 24 October 2001 at 9:10 AM

Hey, ron - didn't you allready ordered it ??

ronknights ( ) posted Wed, 24 October 2001 at 9:23 AM

No my friend, I would have wanted to order the CD. Unfortunately, I am currently in poor financial shape. I am hoping to return to my past employer after a layoff.. In the meantime I was lucky enough to get a few "must haves" such as Mike and Vicki before I had to stop spending. I still haven't begun to scratch the surface of what I downloaded from your site. But I am much more interested in poses sets that are specifically designed for Mike or Vicki since others that are designed for the standard P4 characters often don't seem to work with Mike or Vicki.

Schlabber ( ) posted Wed, 24 October 2001 at 9:29 AM

So, don't worry - you'll get a lot when my site reopened in Nov. :o). Or maybe they will released at DAZ (as Freebie). I know the CD is not cheap - but what should I do ?? It contains a lot of poses and I don't want to kill the market for others ... so I can't sell it for just 20 $ or so ... and splitting it in small parts was impossible ... However - right at the moment around 150 additional Michael/Vicky poses are ready - and they will be freely available ... and of course the normal poses don't work without tweaking ... Michael/Vicki have different joints.

ronknights ( ) posted Wed, 24 October 2001 at 9:51 AM

My friend, you have already given away much of your excellent work.... I know you've had troubles finding a free web site host that would tolerate the kind of traffic you get. I don't blame you for charging for the CD...I still don't know or remember the price. I'm sure it is worth the money. Why not let me know any further details so that I can keep the site/information bookmarked or saved, and I will have something to look forward to.

Schlabber ( ) posted Wed, 24 October 2001 at 10:09 AM

Details are quiete easy ... lol: "Posing is an art" will reopen on Nov. 11th (11:11 cet) - lol. Informations where ... will follow - but if you follow the messages here you'll notice the location ... It will then definately contain around 400 new poses and I think 250 - 500 old poses that will rotate each month (to keep the traffic slow ...). It will (hopefully contain all props and textures also as well as the whole Poses-database from the CD (of course not the poses :o) - so you can make yourself an image what this CD is about ... - I promised this once but wasn't able until now to make it. Regarding the price: there once was a special pre-order price available ... now it is in the store it costs 79 $ (US) or 74,50 $ (Europe) - sorry, but the stores have to get also some money ...

ronknights ( ) posted Wed, 24 October 2001 at 10:42 AM

Please do not aplogize about the price. I have only seen a fraction of what is on your CD, and I know that work was fantastic. So if you're offering more for $79, then it is a great price. You deserve to make some money too.

This is an example... I know it has been done 1000 times probably but I don' have it anywhere I can find. To be honest, I don' have many of the downloadable pose libraries installed because I need to check their licenses (I only install stuff in poser I can use for commercial work - it just saves a lot of trouble later on). This pose if she was on a hard floor (I will be putting in a ground plane) for vicky. Her hands crossed at the wrist behind her. I want to do a close up of the hands, so that's important. The head tilt might be a problen> *sigh* Anyway - if you want to do one or point me at one that would be great! I'll probably have to head over and see what Daz has as well.

Schlabber ( ) posted Wed, 24 October 2001 at 3:45 PM

hey soulhuntre - just send me some images - give me 2 days or so and you'll get the poses back (btw: all my free poses are totally free - except redistribution of the poses itself (for money) - if you want to use the poses for a commercial thing - no problem ;o) Schlabber

Tired has some excellent pin-up poses as well for vicky, in the marketplace, I believe he has that one as well, I'd have to look and check. But I use Schlabber and Tired for my female poses, rarely do I use any others.

OK, now who has some good Knight poses? I just used the $10 gift certificate from DAZ (for entering the 3DCC contest), and finally got the texture maps for the DAZ Knight. Now I have no idea what to do with him. So far I found knight and horse poses, but I am not ready to tackle a horse too.

Schlabber ( ) posted Thu, 25 October 2001 at 8:52 AM

lol - this turned out into a general poses-survey ... please wait about 3 weeks - then my new website is up ;o) You'll find some knights there also (smile)

ronknights ( ) posted Thu, 25 October 2001 at 10:18 AM

Wow, I never met you, and I already feel you're my friend! Seriously, if you never gave another freebie, I would always appreciate what you've given to us. As for that CD: Hopefully I'll have good news in the job scene soon... I really want to get working again so I can save up for some first-class stuff (your poses CD would be one of the priorities on my list.)

I really, really like all of the Supermodel Vickie pose sets at BBay, the set one is called "Betty Page Poses", as Jackson said, there are also two other sets there, While SMV is my figure I actually bought the poses just like everybody else, and I use them all the time! There is also a collection of SMV poses in the store here which almost look like they were done by the same person... Anyway, doesn't cost anything to look, they shoulds also work fine with regular Vickie, with one qualification, the feet will go flat-foot, as SMV (and Supermodel Morph vickie) have the high-heel bend built into the figure. But you might want that anyway.

Thanks! I'll check that out!
