Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 10 5:41 pm)
Poser has problems with joints when they get past 90 degrees, Victoria's mesh just seems slightly worse than other for some reason. I tried to make it better on Supermodel Vickie (who's knees are just as bad) by adding Joint Controlled Morphs to adjust the mesh, I got it a lot better, but it was a ton of a lot of blind work (you never know exactly what a morph will do, I tried dozens of ideas). I don't know if (Jaeger's?) JCM for Vickie upgrade in the store addresses this or not, but if it does, it is a answer. Dina's knees work better, incidently, all of Dcourt's figures seem better here, some work a little strangely, but better.
This knee thing has been a real problem for me. Lately Ive been exploring poses based on the classic pinup work of artists like Gil Elvgren, Earl McPherson, and Peter Metcalf (with the above image base on an illustration by Andrew Loomis). Many of these poses involve the subject kneeling or reclining, with that at least one knee folded past ninety degrees. I had hoped that there was a Joint Editor fix for this problem. If not a fix, are there joint editor settings that would improve the look of the knee? Ive also considered fixing the knee with magnets (which Im just learning to use). It has also crossed my mind to make a new kneecap prop from a sphere and try replacing the original knee with it (probably far more work than its worth). In the end, I fear that the final solution lies in the post-rendering something that I would like to avoid. Thanks all!
