Ok, im using posette with a texture map as you can see from the picture. I cant seem to understand about trans maps though and what they do. How would you go about making the face (eyes especially) more realistic in terms of transparency etc. Could someone please take a little time out to explain exactly what i need to do. do i have to create my own transparency map or something or can i set it up in the materials editor? hope someone can help daz P.S Dont laugh, im still learning lol

First I'll say that I have a pretty good tutorial at my website for this (link). There are also a few downloads (all of the texture sets include transmaps) From the picture it doesn't look as if you have the texture applied to the entire face (eyebrows) either that or you did not change the base colors to white. I'll give you a quick rundown, images to follow...

Unfortunately, the eyes themselves can only be made more realistic with the highlights painted onto the texture map. Better yet, use a photo of a real eye. Unlike Vicki, Posette doesn't have the transparent eyeballs that give it the shiny, reflective look. Melanie

if you want the textures they would be under downloads tutorials are listed under tutorials no P4 can't use vicky textures (not without mucking around in a paint program)

April has a p4fem that will accept vicky maps, it's in the download area of 3-D Arena.
