I decided to revisit Evilinnocence's Crossdresser application to research how efficient it is for converting outfits from one model to another. To my amazement, it is truly a very powerful program for refitting old content to current figures. In the image below rendered in P12 Superfly, I converted a V3 outfit and V4 hairpiece to fit Miki 3, converted all the props and figures to Superfly material using EZSkin3, Cycles, and PBR to create this incredible scene. Since I haven't gallery posted in a very long time, I might just throw this one up this weekend. Enjoy.
Sorry for a second post the same day, but I've just tested Ghostship's excellent materials: awesome

I made a raytracing demo in a dress.
Did you used some SSS effects on her hair? I've stumbled upon the same effect, and I had to avoid it, so that I hadn't that weird orange color above her eyes and on her cheeks

It's the hair BSDF node set to transmissive. Not sure if that does any scattering, but I wouldn't be too surprised. Probably best to avoid that node in the future for trans-mapped hair then. I liked the way the hair itself looked and didn't mind the orange glow too much, but now that you mention it...

The hair BSDF and the principled hair BSDF nodes are for dynamic hair rather than transmapped

Makes sense. To be honest, I'm a bit embarrassed that I didn't realize that right away.

I have to say that not all transmapped react this way, but I don't have the technical knowledge to explain why. But 2, 3 years ago I stumbled upon a material setting involving the PoserSurface node, plus the correspnoding scatter and anisotropic nodes. And from time to time, I have to avoid the scatter node precisely. For now, I haven't been satisfied using Cycles and transmapped hairs.

used to ware corduroy pants all the time when I was a kid. I think they were cheaper for my parents to buy than jeans. Here is the velvet and suede

Oh these are looking great too!
I also had corduroy pants when I was a teenager, and IIRC, there was a matching vest. My mother was a professional seamstress, so she made all my clothes until I was in college and working.

I'll buy that when it's ready...
I don't know if there's a way to package up your P12 hair shader, maybe a plug-in to ezskin? But something to quickly convert old transmapped hair textures. I do it manually all the time now. That would be useful too.
someone on the old SM forum made a plugin for my hair. I think the user was Amethystpendant but not sure if they are on this forum. It was set up for P11 and probably needs a shader update for 12.

Dawn with Afrodite Ohki's Taiana Hair and lighting from Level Up Superfly
I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
Oh I missed some great images here!
@Y-Phil maybe next time try playing with that hair's posing! It can add a lot of movement to your render :)

Happy that volumes are working again and, much to my surprise, even Firefly atmosphere now works in Superfly.
love the ground fog / gas like to have that
The ground fog is just a Superfly volume. It is a little bit messy because it was a lot of trial and error to make it look like I wanted. The fog coming out of the shaft is just a clothified highres plane using the same volume (volumes does not need to be closed).
Just realized that my Poser 12 decided to mess up volumes again. Anybody else having the problem that volumes sometimes don´t work with P 12?

Thanks for the reply.
Seems like the cause is most likely my PC. (Ryzen7 1700x - GeForce GTX 1070 – Windows10), win and all drivers are up to date. After a reboot P12 rendered all volumes correct again. Maybe one of my other apps is messing with the GeForce driver.
It also could be that the windows updates are messing up something on my PC. After the update before the last one my P11 started to frequently crash. After the last win update P11 runs stable again.
It may be one of the instabilities introduced with Poser12's last iterations (V619)

For example, while I'm writing this response, Poser12, freshly opened, froze, with an empty scene,at the moment when I tried to close the program using the upper-right cross. I've filed a ticket at the support on Friday.

I mean, I have been working on a scene with "Shades of Vanilla Skye) during 2 days, and for whatever reasons, the third day, Poser12 crashed by simply re-opening the scene, or it crashed while starting the render

Actually P12 is running very stable for me, not a single crash so far. I really think the main problem is windows, drivers and other installed stuff. With my P11 most crashes happened when I delete something. But, like said, the crashes stopped with the last windows update.
The only “freezing” problem I have with P12 is when P12 throws some system message, like a not found obj or if the file should be saved, and for some reason the Poser, or only preview window, is put upfront so the message window becomes inaccessible. Sometimes it helps to minimize and maximize the Poser window, but in most cases the only way out I found so far is killing P12 using the task manager.
HA! I know the feeling xD Still looks great anyway! You are absolutely right: I was too in a hurry.. lol
