Subject: Need help making a smart prop

DocMatter ( ) posted Wed, 27 April 2022 at 9:53 PM · edited Wed, 11 December 2024 at 7:53 PM

I exported a belly ring prop from Daz (as an obj) into Poser 12 so I could use it on V4.  I positioned the ring right where it needed to be in her naval, parented it to her abdomen and saved it as a prop.  it loads back in place just fine, but whenever I pose V4, the ring moves from her naval.  Not a lot, but enough that I have to adjust it each time to get it back where it's supposed to.

Is there a way to make where I parent the prop more precise than just her generic abdomen?  Thanks!

(I also tried parenting to her hip, but that was even worse.)

Try this:

Zero figure. Position object where you want it (parent is universe).... Export to .obj , re-import object (don't center or place on floor)parent to abdomen...save as smart prop.

Site Admin Online Now!

You might try adjusting the center or the endpoint of the belly ring

if you mean moving the origin, I tried that too.  Put it in the center... same problem.  Put it at the end... same problem.

My results are a little better if I parent it to her hip instead of her abdomen, but it still moves.

OK try this:

Again zero figure... Enter the  Fitting Room/New session.... Select your prop & figure, do nothing else just create a new figure. In the dialogues select nothing NO regroup No morphs....  Just an empty figure ..... Now back in the Pose Tab rename New Figure to Bellybutton ring(whatever) select that figure's abdomen...Menu/Object/ replace body part with prop/ Select the original bellybutton ring  and hit enter... test by conforming to figure and if satisfactory delete the new prop, save figure to library...

Y'all have a great day.

Sorry for double post too late to edit I guess...

Y'all have a great day.
