Subject: Adding transparent BSDF to texture?

DocMatter ( ) posted Thu, 02 June 2022 at 10:50 AM · edited Mon, 23 December 2024 at 7:54 AM

I'm still very much in the dark about using cycles in Superfly, so I've only been able to slightly tweak a few of the given textures I've bought.  One thing I'm trying to do is add a slight transparency to a texture, in this case a silk satin texture.  I just have no idea where to attach the node.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

try this setup. the fac of the first mixclosure controls the strength of the transparency. Either plug a transparency map into it or reduce the number to increase the transparency

From time to time: check the bitmap's gamma: it should be 1.0 not the default 2.2, this is for all bump and Transparency bitmaps.
In my case, I even take the time to set their filter to None.
