Not really to Octoberish... but still ~G~ always liked crystal figurines, although I don't have any I hate to dust more. As for making my own texture, I have decided I'm really bad at it. The cloths under the vases I did. (I know really sad attempt.~L~) The rest are regular textures. Is there no way to make your own bump files?

Wow ! I really love that ! I love the sobriety of this composition and the colors give a really good mood to the scene. I really, really love that !!!

Hey, that looks great.. I love the figurines, the reflection in the mirror, the composition.. Very, very nice...

Pretty terrific, Ms Outlaw! Love those figurines too. My mother used to have a goo gob of them of all types, even little cars and trucks. Totally believable corner of someone's domicile. I love it. Larry F

Love the glass figurines! :) Laurie

Thank you everyone. I kept thinking afterwards I should have put a mirror on the back wall...or this or that. Of course after hours of rendering. I forgot to mention the mirror frame is from Sharon's set. The horse and eagle were from Poser. The rest is all Poser.

this is a very nice image and render ! as LarryF said , very believable being in someone`s niche. good work , excellent realism

Very nicely done, Miz O! It is like taking a peek inside your home. The figurines are wonderful and look very fragile. Your fabric material is quite fine, quite fine! Glad you gave it a try! :D When you open the Material Editor, you'll see a tab for Bump. Click the tab to open the Bump production area. You can create a bump using the procedural functions and filters, or you can use an image map.

Ms_Outlaw ( ) posted Thu, 25 October 2001 at 12:52 AM

You can use an image map? Can't seem to find where to load one in. Think there's lots of things hidden in here. I suppose reading the manual cover to cover would help... I need better glasses, that print is small. Oh... I can't find the vegitation builder. Thought I had it, got the material list, but I only had one tree in so it gave me just the list for that. Oh well, I'll find these things eventually. Thanks Varian. /// Oh and sorry, the flowers are Catherine's flower props out of poser.)

IT is beautiful!!!! I adore the glass statues and the mirror :) Re the bump creations, as Varian said in the material editor, choose the bump tab, then select to edit the filter (right click), select mapped values and then use your image map as your bump :) You can edit all of the functions in the same manner, including the transparency tab.....by selecting variable transparencies, edit filter and once again choose mapped values and use the image again - if u have it (the image) inverted, you can create beautiful doileys with it.

AH HA right click... thank you! Found it.

SAMS3D ( ) posted Thu, 25 October 2001 at 3:53 AM

Wow I think it is wonderful, just really eye catching, you did a great job. As far as texturing, I know how you feel, I am still practicing at it. It is not something you can just whip up I know that, it does take time and a little knowledge, at least for me. But you did a great job. I wouldn't change anything, it is great. Sharen

Beautiful picture, Ms! Those glass statues turned out very well, as well as the flowers, and everything. There is alot hidden in Vue's material editor, actually, and in fact, most of it is covered only very vaguely in the manual, so the best thing to do is to ask specific questions, and do alot of experimenting....

Thanks all for the tips. Going to give Varian a run for his money now that I found the "right click" ~L~ Kidding. But found a whole bunch of stuff now. Hate finding this stuff when I have to go to bed. Always happens though. Thanks again.

Near perfect image !

gebe ( ) posted Thu, 25 October 2001 at 11:32 AM

Looks very beautiful and the glass objects are very convincing ! Nothing bad to say :-) As Varian said you can use bitmaps for bumps. You can use color images (sometimes the same you used for the material) or grey scale images. In the BUMP tab of your material editor, right-click in the bump production window and choose "EDIT FUNCTION" from the list. In the bnew window, click at MAPPED VALUES and choose the file you want to use. Click OK and again OK. And if you want to save your bitmap as afunction file, just save it. Again right-click in the bump edition window and choose "SAVE FUNCTION". :-)Guitta

I might have used a terrain for a base for the eagle, (I've got a leaded crystal figurine like that) but it's a beautiful scene. :) Rich

Apart from the eagle, and everything being glass, this could've been a snap shot of my nan's "parlour". Very well done.
