Subject: DAZ Studio reports that an SASE file is missing, even after it is located

contedesfees ( ) posted Sun, 23 October 2022 at 7:31 AM · edited Sun, 26 January 2025 at 3:40 PM

I've noticed a strange problem with several SASE (Sabby and Seven) characters. When I load one in DAZ Studio (the latest version), I receive an error message telling me that a file cannot be found in the textures folder. I click OK, navigate to the appropriate folder and locate the file. The character loads and another pop-up informs me never the less that the file is missing.

For example, when I load SASE Ettie, DAZ Studio reports that /textures/SASE/Ettie/SASEEttieEyesB_1007.jpg is missing. I locate it, the character loads, and DAZ Studio reports still that it is missing.

The same happens with SASE Mandy, SASE Micayla, and SASE Rorie. And it is invariably the /textures/SASE/ . . ./SASE. . .EyesB_1007.jpg file.

Has anyone any ideas what is happening?

If you are able to find the textures, then it sounds like they are not routed right on your system.

I would check the readme to see what the file paths are supposed to be.

Thank you, Jamie. I hadn't thought of that.

The issue is that the artist uses a template file for their presets, just chnaging the name of the textrus to reflect the character name. Unfortunately one line has a formattign error - //Runtime where it should be /Runtime - which was previously accepted by Daz Studio bu now isn't (so the Runtime part gets dropped, causing the path actually used by DS to be incorrect). This means every product has the same basic problem (affecting one of the eye or lash textures as I recall). The artist is working to fix these, but you can fix them  yourself if you open the problem files in a text editor (not a word processor) and do as earch and replace for //Runtime with /Runtime

Thank you very much indeed, RHaseltine. I do appreciate your assistance. Being a newb, I would not have known what to do. Thanks again.

Incidentally, RHaseltine, it worked like a charm. Thanks again.
