Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 15 2:13 am)
More often than not, I find that when simulation fails on me it's because it can't calculate how a part of it would bend. For example, like the cloth is set to not stretch at all but at some point a non-stretch fabric would not allow a body part to bend that way without ripping.

Feel free to call me Ohki!
Poser Pro 11, Poser 12 and Poser 13, Windows 10, Superfly junkie. My units are milimeters.
Persephone (the computer): AMD Ryzen 9 5900x, RTX 3070 GPU, 96gb ram.
Normally, I parent to the hip, but I don't think that's the problem. It might be as Ohki says. I've also seen where the clothing had some stay vertex and I have to use a modeler to find it. And recently, I had a simulation fail on something that had no problems with geometry or posing soI deleted the simulation and recreated it and it worked perfectly.

Hi, does it matter where an obj type of object is parented to when using the cloth room? I keep getting a 'Simulation failed at frame 0' message when trying to put some pants onto V4. I've parented them to her body. I've left the simulation settings to 30 frames without drape. If I use drape the sim just goes on and on without ending the draping. I've made sure nothing on the pants is actually already touching V4 and its a very simple obj.. I'm using a simple pair of pants because I've got a more complex obj shirt that I'm trying to fit which does the same thing. Fails at frame 0.
Any ideas? I'm using P10 (when I get the chance).
