Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 18 10:25 pm)
There is a script called list files. I believe it’s under scripts>utilities. It will list and geometry files and texture files loaded into the scene and tell you where they are located. Since it works on the current scene, you will need the figure loaded.
Many figures do come with their own templates, but finding those can be difficult since there is no standardized location and too many have super original names like “torso template”.
Available on Amazon for the Kindle E-Reader Monster of the North and The Shimmering Mage
Today I break my own personal record for the number of days for being alive.

I use Poser 13 and win 10
Note: If eg CR2 file exceeds ~100 Kb, 'Notepad' may become unstable or 'hang'. If so, open file with eg Wordpad, which lacks such constraints...
I ran into this 'hacking' mis-exported OBJ files which had 'many' material regions, but only one (1) material name...
( And, d'uh, make a 'safety' copy of original file, to be sure, to be sure... )
There are also 'Classic' utilities such as Phil_C's wondrous CR2 editor...
John Stallings made Cr2Editor, IIRC. Doubt you'll be able to find it now, sadly.

DL link is working and Cr2Editor 1.51 tested and works in Win10
...MorphMan40, on that page, also works. It's kind of antiquated though. Sometimes useful for batch deletes. Renaming of external/internal names can be done in Poser itself via dial settings dialogue. I use Dimension3d's Binary Morph Editor for pmd perusal and manipulation.
I've never had Cr2Editor crash from anything, in the times I've used it. I just use a text editor for Poser file manipulations. I use EditPad lite. I've never come up against any difficulties using it, including manually hacking pmd injections and creating geometry switching dials.

Is there a way to find out what geometry file is being called by a figure? This would be for UV mapping purposes, to find the original .obj a figure is using.
Thanks.
