Subject: Missing files problem with Kierna Outfit in DAZ Studio

Barzoff ( ) posted Fri, 06 January 2023 at 12:46 AM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 5:43 AM

Hello,

I recently bought the GF8 Kierna Outfit from second circle but I get a missing files warning when I try to load each part of the outfit, despite the fact that I installed properly each item in the right folder. I have no clue what could possibly causes this. Thanks for any help you could give to me.

Here are some screenshots. As you can see, each file is installed where it should be.

Did you actually install it into the DS Library folder?

Barzoff ( ) posted Fri, 06 January 2023 at 8:55 AM

Yes, I did.

My main computer is a PC, but I still have an old Mac with DAZ Studio installed in it. I installed the Kierna Outfit Pack in the Mac and still have the same problem. Is it possible that the files in this pack are natively corrupted?

I see that there is lower-case difference in the folder name.  Instead of 'SC Kierna Dress' as specified by the missing files error, you have 'Sc Keirna Dress'.  As to whether this makes a difference, I don't know.  It shouldn't but who knows how DS interprets relative to absolute pathways.

It may matter on the Mac, depending on the disc format settings, but not on Windows.

Where is the data folder on the Windows machine, and what are your content diectory settings?

@ hborre: Richard is right: the difference in the folder name doesn't make a difference

@Richard: The data folder has always been where it belongs by default: Users → Public → Documents → My DAZ 3D Library → data

About the content directory settings, is that what you meant? I have never changed anything in this setting.

You would need to expand the Daz Studio formats entry to be sure, but if you are using the default it should be fine.
