Um, it's literally nothing else but running the script under Utilities that says 'import libraries' or something like that. It is an one click, just have to specify it is from under P12 if you have that, or P11 if you had that. It imports *everything* you linked there, with one click. It's fabulous.
Correct but the library will also show a downloads and a purchases runtimes and under the Purchases tab you have an included tab along with Renerosity and Poser software tabs. All of the additional content is under the included tab so you have the choice of installing from here or downloading the content vis the zips available to add them manually. It just imports the runtime the way they are. It will look like It did in P12. That's all.
I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
Right, but that was the same with P12. I always install manually after downloading because that gives me the flex to install to the right category like (in my case, for instance) 'Props', Architecture', 'La Femme', 'Nature' or whatever other runtime customization one has. I don't use Purchases or Included.

As I understand it, and I hope someone will correct me if I am wrong, any changes to the runtime structure would only be apparent if you installed the content from the included tab which would then install it in the Poser 13 content folder.Right, but that was the same with P12. That would not suit me as I have a similar runtime set up to you and I also manually install from the downloaded zips. Using the script to find previous runtimes add then in the same manner as they were in the previous Poser version, it even keeps the same order.

Poser 11, 12 & 13 All have a folder setup that says Poser XX Content. Where you place that folder is up to you. Me, I have my setup to be E:Poser Content: Poser XX Content. All my external runtimes are located in E:Poser Content folder so I know where they are. The ONLY thing that is added to Poser XX Content is the required content to make Poser work and that would be in Poser XX Content:Runtime. Then you have Downloads, Included and Purchases. Those are folders that sit next to the Runtime folder and inside each of them is their proper Runtime folder where the content lives. IF you don't want to use the included or Purchases folders that is up to you. I use them to download content and move it to another location. And that location is a Runtime that is NOT Poser XX Content, Purchases, Included or Downloads. However doing testing on Poser I tend to leave the Included content where it is to be more like a first time user would experience.
Poser's indexing on the content libraries is fast enough now that moving content from runtime to runtime is not painful and the search function will be updated before I close out of a session.

And the next step is to add "hard link" to the current "Poser XX Content: runtime : libraries : Collections" folder, so that it appears under the "Favorites" tab of the library manager, without having to copy what's insidePoser 11, 12 & 13 All have a folder setup that says Poser XX Content. While that would be nice it does come with a security issue that I don't think any program maker wants to responsible for. While it is easy to setup a hard link in business use cases it is not permitted for regular users because to does pose a security problem. I am not sure I would want to be responsible when someone deleted a file from favorites and found out they removed from the original location also.

I understand but the use of hard link here, in the specific case of Poser is to have, for example your material settings, in one place, but they add a convenient way to retrieve them form another location: the favorites tabWhile that would be nice it does come with a security issue that I don't think any program maker wants to responsible for. Along these lines... I am an OLD Poser user... I skipped the growing pains of 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12.. so my runtimes are kind of a mess and Poser 13 just laughs at me when trying to import them. So I will need to sort out every one with the proper folders now.
Also, do people use the Collections and Other folders for anything?
Thanks a bunch in advance!
Collections is where your favorites are stored. If you have something you use a lot, you can select it in the library and hit the star at the bottom to add it to your favorites. Then whenever you want it, you can hit the favorites tab on the library and have access to it.

I think I read somewhere that the file structure is different with Poser13.
If this is so, how do we import our runtime libraries? Do we need to recreate our libraries to match the current file structure?
Or is it possible to just import the runtime as we have previously done?
