Subject: L'homme and the ballooning conforming clothes

patlane ( ) posted Tue, 18 April 2023 at 11:41 AM · edited Fri, 08 November 2024 at 10:02 AM

Hello.

I read a post on here a while ago about conforming clothes on to L'Homme where the garment came out all distorted, stretched and ballooned.

Bending or moving any part of L'Homme's body would seem like it was tying the garment in big, horrible knots.

There was a fix for it but as I can't find the post, so I am lost to know what to do about it?

Can anyone remember how to fix this problem please.

Much appreciated.

Pat

Did you try 'Copy Joint Zones From...' under Figure?

If you converted the clothing from another figure using the fitting room did you set the l'homme size under the pose dials to zero before doing the fitting?

There was no mention of clothing conversion by the OP.  The other alternative is to check the Properties tab for appropriate checkboxes.  Using the Fitting Room should be the last option even if the conforming clothing is rigged for L'Homme.

The garment I made for L'homme was constructed uniquely for the character in 3D Coat as an obj. I have done other garments for Paul and the new Neo character without this problem.

Yes, have used both zero and not zero when making conforming clothes for L'homme. But your suggestion of copying joint zones does feel familiar with the thread, I couldn't find.

Thank you, I will try :)

Pat.

You need to set L'Homme back to 100% scaling if you haven't.  He is AFAIK, at 105 when loaded due to really being a morph if LF.

L'hoomme has a size dial under the pose dials. You have to set it to zero manually. Using the zero figure does not work.

The clothes were probably modeled around an export of L'Homme which will bake his scale in the clothing then when the clothes are loaded the scale ends up doubled.

Always model clothing based on the original OBJ files not an export from the figure. Also the L'Homme included with Poser 13 has his hidden 105% scale removed so this won't happen to P13 l'Homme.

Thanks for removing that, it was a pain to fit any clothes with the fitting room on him!!
