This isn't with Genesis, this is with all DS characters and props. Does the Importer only work with Genesis X, or with all newer DS content? My Genesis stuff other than Genesis 3 and 8 have poser Companion files. I also have Dimension3d XL manager. What I am working on now is the DAZ Tyrannosaurus Rex. I have tried others in .DUF and nothing comes out right.
Which T-rex version are you trying to import? The basic problem with other Daz characters is the absence of a PCF unless the model is older and has a separate Poser core installer. Otherwise, your approach to exporting a DAZ model is creating a PCF that can be transferred through DSON, but there is no guarantee that the process will translate into a 100% poseable figure. You can try following the Genesis 3 & 8 Poser Updater instructions for generating hair and clothing which might generate a Poser-friendly figure.
Until there's a solution, I have the old Tyrannosaurus DR, so I will just go what I've done for the old Daz African Elephant and others. I went to the materials room, and generally all that's there is a diffuse and possibly specular, and sometimes a bump. I will generate new maps, add in ambient and ambient occlusion, and normal maps. Then adjust everything to render nicely in P11 Pro. The African Elephant actually came out quite nice. I can do all that for TRexDR and the rest of my dinosaurs DR. I have been doing this with a lot of my many years of Poser content with generally nice results when the models were nice.
My renewed interest in dinosaurs was sparked when I found a particularly nice Jurassic Park style high electric fence system in .OBJ format at ShareCG. Once imported and Poserized, it looked so nice, it begged for dinosaurs to run amok! I just thought it might be easier to import the very nice looking Tyrant King, than retex the DR hoping for tolerable results.
This utility work great for G3 and G8 figures. Be sure to follow directions on how to import the figures after changing the rigging. Save the import in a new folder and run the updater. This works only for figures and not for props.

@hborre,
That's correct. I haven't started importing G3 or G8 yet. If the importer won't create a .PMD, but shows it in the .CR2, I'm afraid to even try Genesis. None of the joints are working properly. There doesn't seem to be any JCM. Instead of the joint's bending, there is improper movement with "Stretching". Every joint becomes dislocated.
Even creating PCFs through DSON produces the same outcome when importing into Poser. There is no JCM generated nor IK if the model is a rigged figure. Although I have Dimension 3D XL Library Manager, I do not have it currently installed on my system. I will need to look into this and determine if there is any difference between the programs.

I just noticed on the XL Library Manager webpage that the software no longer works with Poser 11 Pro. Now, Snarly's AVFix might make it compatible but I wonder if other code parts of the program are not properly working.I have Daz Poser Importer Installed. I use Dimension 3d XL library manager to set up the import, no need to export from DS. Library manager creates companion files.
Everything works but the .PMD creation. The geometry object file and .CR2 are created. The textures are linked.
And I am mistaken, I do not have Dimension3D's XL Library Manager to test DUF imports.
I could never make the DSON thing work properly on my Win10 platform, but the version I have is 1.2.0.12

I am consistently having a problem using Poser 11 Pro 11.2 with the DSON Importer. This is on a Win 10 computer and Win 11 laptop.
Any character I import using the DSON Importer pops up a search for a non-existing .PMD file. The DSON created .CR2 calls for a .PMD file, and it is simply not created. I have done full computer searches for the exact .PMD file name, and the .PMD file is never found. I do not believe this is a writable folder issue, or improper output path, as the new CR2 and geometry files are there, just no .PMD. This is for any character or morphing prop I try to import.
I have seen through GOOGLE searches that others had this problem, yet, I have never seen a valid solution.
Is there any way to get the importer to include the morph data in the .CR2 instead of using the .PMD?
I have even reinstalled my Poser Pro 2014 to test this, with the same effect. The importer doesn't create the .PMDs with 2014 either.
This leaves me unable to use any DS content, and I simply can't deal with Daz Studio.
Thanks for any help proposed.
