Subject: Library Trouble

I went to bring up Poser Pro 2014 and I got a shock. It presented a library that I despise instead of the one I always use. Any help would be appreciated.jmM2YNAXdvzG6XCeJXFS90FTykvbks48qbSRQu7x.jpg

Open the panel below the window and uncheck Tree.

I don't see a panel. Not with this white library showing.

You will need to undock it to see the 3 dots at the bottom.

mdbruffy ( ) posted Wed, 10 April 2024 at 2:44 PM

It won't undock, It just expands across the screen:

What happens when you click on the circles in the upper right corner?

It's sort of a miracle this works at all. The library in P10(2014) requires Adobe Flash. They didn't just stop supporting it. Whenever Flash phoned home they actively killed it. Flash was literally killed and tossed in a burning dumpster by Adobe in 2020. There's no getting it back. That looks like some sort of 3rd party library replacement like p3Do.

If you have a 64 bit version of Poser installed and a 64 bit OS you can try the external library ... It uses Adobe Air which is now Samsung Air and is also waaaay past end of life. It will eventually stop working too.

Just tried them. Nothing happened.

You seem to run a alternative Library version, I do not recall the name.

Resetting the Library try removing the folder C:\Users\Sample\AppData\Roaming\Poser Pro\10

Make a search in the Internet for Adobe Flash archives and find

"install_flash_player_11_active_x_64bit_11.2.202.235.exe" or bellow

These do not have the kill switch and will work with your local applications. best is to use the 11.2.202.235 version. after install all your older Poser versions will work just as supposed to.

Got the install file but it wouldn't install. "We have retired Flash. Support for Flash ended December 31, 2020."

Where is that Sample folder at? I have 3 folders: Defualt, my name and Public. That's all that's showing.

Sample stands for your user name account :)

I just looked again. There is no sample folder. Only the 3 I listed.I don't have a folder with my user name- just my name.

Found it. It WAS in the folder with my name on it.

It reset, but there's still a problem. It all comes back to Adobe Flash not working anymore.

... and Flash will never work again. Thanks Adobe. So, unless you have a time machine to go back before 2020 you're probably out of luck. That's why I said it was a miracle it was doing any thing, If you want a normal library you'll have to update Poser to a Post-Flash version. Poser 11 and up

The only other solution I know is the p3do library system. It runs in a separate window and is a windows native app so no flash nonsense. But, it definitely doesn't look anything like Posers normal library.

I had reinstalled Poser Pro because it was the last version to have Wardrobe Wizard. Poser should have bought Phic out when he retired instead of pulling the app out. Now we're stuck with Poser 12 and up and their lousy conversion app.

Purchasing PhilC's program would have resulted in a loss of customer support for us. Given that he has passed away, this support would no longer be available.

how do you get that? If Poser had bought the program, they would have had all the necessary files to handle things- including support and updating.

Reinstalling an older flash version should actually work, it worked for me on all machines. Win Updates do not remove it no Time machine needed , as alternative you can also use " Adobe AIR, with settings to external Library ".

Well, it didn't work on mine. I went ahead and removed it. deleted the files and all. This is the kind of relationship I've always had with Poser. Some versions work for me and others don't. I had the external library in place, but I wasn't happy with it. Whenever I tried to do anything, it disappeared till I was done. I'll jjust have to gowith Poser 12 and hope I never have to convert any more outfits.

An alternative. Keep Poser 2014 on there. Use Poser 12 for making images and only use 2014 if you need to use wardrobe wizard.

Available on Amazon for the Kindle E-Reader Monster of the North and The Shimmering Mage

Today I break my own personal record for the number of days for being alive.
Check out my store here or my free stuff here
I use Poser 13 and win 10
