Evening everyone! About to pick up Poser 12 thanks to the Humble Bundle it is paired with. It's been many years since I have dabbled in Poser and thought I would make a thread asking for advice. I have a lot of V4 content but have been thinking about what else would complement the program. Do any of you have any suggestions? Perhaps La Femme 2 Pro? or some good lights? any tutorial recommendations?

I seem to remember a skin shader setup on the forms at one point but not sure where it's gotten off to.

I will eventually upgrade to 13 and/or wait for Poser 14 if I can wrap my head around the software. I can't use the 'other' program because I don't like their switch to a subscription model for more features. I'm tired of subscription models and pray Poser 14 doesn't go that route.

Might even dabble in content creation but I've read somewhere on these forums that its quite involved and really no tutorials to assist a new content creator. I have Marvelous Designer 8 (its old, I know) but it should allow me to make a few nice things.

Anyway, great to be here. Thank you in advance for any information you can provide and I hope to be around for a bit.

Welcome aboard. Although there isn't further development on Poser 12, it is a good starting point to get your feet wet again. As for Poser 14, there isn't a definitive release date, but whenever that happens, there may be major advancements and changes. Right now, Poser 13 will still see occasional updates to fix or enhance existing features; maybe introduce some smaller advancements. I would suggest getting acquainted with Cycles and physically based rendering if you are interested in creating realistic-type images. Peruse the forums and engage in the discussions. There are plenty of helpful users here willing to answer questions and impart the knowledge they have. Again, welcome aboard and enjoy your stay.

@hborre Thank you so much for the warm welcome! I am sure I will have lots of questions as I get ready to learn the program. I need to download all my figures and items so that I can actually attempt to render some images lol.
