Content Advisory! This message contains nudity, violence

The fact: you buy Poser : $ 219 it is not a lot for such a program. you begin to use poser and you understand the most of the community use the victoria and mike models.So... you buy Vicky and Mike $ 50 (special offer!!!) after if you are not going to elaborate naked figures you understand that you need clothes and hair for them so you buy everything you need V e M textures $ 50 hair $ 35 clothing $ 70 But M e V are growing up...now they are adult and me must upgrade too: V2 e M2 $ 50 Want we give a minimum of look to our creatures...or not? hair $ 200 clothe $ 100 carachters $ 200 We are now at about $ 1000. We still need a lot of stuff to get advanced in creations... That is my monthly money. A lot of people have not neither this. They have a PC and a lot of talent and learning wish. So don't be astonished and scandalyzed if anybody try to get warez copies of such a stuff. High rates, kill the creativity and create black market. Wahat I wisper is free Vicky and Mike and cheaper item costs. Me I use warez,so I'm a thief. And you who sell your bad quality texture for 20 $ in the marketplace, who are you?

What do you think people did, when there was no viccy and all the things for her???? The good artist made great images without all this. There are still so many good textures,hair......out there in freestuff for the p4 woman. Have a look in the galleries for older images!!

Hi, Doubtless somebody else has already told you this, but a "real"3D package will cost you much more than poser. Then you'll need the plugins to do character animation, etc. and then, if you have neither the talent nor the time, you'll need to buy the models, some of which will cost you a lot more than the software... I started out with a pirate copy of poser, but only after I went through every shop in the computer section (in Munich) only to find that you couldn't buy it any more. The first model I bought was Thorne's "Nikki" (here, at the store) and slowly I graduated to Vicky, etc. all of which I paid for, because I could. Then finally I bought a "real" copy of poser, because I was again able to order it. (Not bad really, scoring an English version in Germany :) Though I must say that $215 is cheap, I paid 660DM for mine. Around 220 UK pounds, or $330, I was happy to pay it as I knew what I was getting for my money, and they even throw in the mac version for good measure. This is mostly a hobbyists market, because nobody is going to employ you if all you know how to do is poser. you don't have to use poser, and if you actually had a lot of talent you wouldn't need to bitch about the price of the models, you'd learn to make them yourself, and then you too could sell them in the store. Where people point guns at your head and force you to buy "bad textures" for $20 I recently paid more then $20 for a texture, (completely of my own volition, honest! :) and I for one am more than happy with my purchases. later jb

Well, 3d graphis is definitly not a cheap hobby if you want to use the work of others.
Vicky and Mike make it easier but they are not required for good pictures.

PS: You don't need to buy much stuff for Vicky.
Free downloads:

  1. Hair from http://digitalbabes2.com/
  2. Cloth and Textures: there is a whole section in Renderosity/freestuff for Vicky.

You can wait with further purchases till daz3d has another sale (maybe X-mas?).

By your reasoning, if I don't own a car and everyone else has one, i should be allowed to steal one and hold it against car manufacturers that they charge so much for their product. Unlike food, clothing and shelter, Poser is not a necessity of life. You don't have to own it. And why, because other people own Vicky and Mike does it make it necessary for you to own them? This "bandwagon" sort of thinking is the root of your problem. This isn't a competition, and I'm assuming your livelihood doesn't necessitate your having to create pictures with Poser. So like most people who own the program, you're probably a hobbyist, just doing this for fun. So the argument that your hobby is so expensive that you have to steal things to keep doing it is not compelling. The next time you decide to steal something via warez, picture in your mind the person or persons who created that product. Even if it is what you consider a bad quality texture (then why would you buy it in the first place?), the item took the person hours to create. Don't you think people who actually do work should be compensated for it? And if they have their products here on Renderosity, Renderosity gets 50% of the price charged -- so say for the few figures I have here in the store, I only get $6 every time someone buys one. If you are so poverty stricken that you are driven to become a thief, sell Poser and find a cheap hobby -- like drawing -- where you can retain your self-respect and the respect of those around you.. Why do you have to own Mike or Vicky? I recently downloaded the remap of posette so she can take the vicky textures and very soon there will be a remap for the mike textures as well, I can't afford to buy mike or vicky, but if I had the money I'd be there now buying them, I'm not about to steal them though, the guys and girls at Daz and curious labs spent a lot of time working on them figures and deserve every penny we give them. If you steal from them they'll stop working on poser and then you'll be stealing from all of us honest people in the poser community, stealing the palette we use to create our art.

As several pointed out, you just have to compare the price of Poser stuff to other 3D goods to realize that it's good value for money. And why is it that? Because many people buy it! That is the only thing that keeps the price down for items that has only non-material value, meaning no value in the sense of raw material. A very simple rule that applies to every market. The almost fanatical community around Poser means that the developers have a huge market for their stuff. To keep that market they need to do two things: - Develop even better stuff. That costs money. - Keep the price down so that hobby people such as myself can buy it The only way to solve that equation is to make sure that people pay for the goods. The more people that do, the more development resources there will be for future goods. vronsky, can you please tell me how we can do it your way? Who will develop the software and all the other stuff if we don't pay for it? How will the Poser community benefit from us stealing? Will the next version of Poser and Vicky/Mike be even better if we didn't pay for the present versions? Sorry, I have a hard time believing that...

Hi, Well, (without checking first) he may have been kicked off the site... Also, since he/she isn't a native English speaker, all the "wordy" posts might be putting him/her off replying. later jb
