sounds right, and what happens after rendering?dont they show up??

nfredman ( ) posted Sat, 03 November 2001 at 11:51 AM

There's a wee little check box that says, Apply to all materials, or something to that effect, in that Materials dialog--be careful about that one. You might want it checked when you apply the body material, then uncheck it before applying head, eyebrows, lips, etc. Otherwise you get weird patterns on the face!

The probs are the eyebrows. In your material you have two eyebrows ,give them the normal headtexture and no transm. then there is one thing "upper eyebrows" add no transmap but set transmax and transmin both to 100%.that should fix it

KimberlyC ( ) posted Sat, 03 November 2001 at 2:27 PM

i didn't add the transm to either..thats y i'm so confused...and both are set to 100%

take one of the "eyebrows" make the color white and give it the headtexture, nothing else take second "eyebrows" make color white, add no map set transmax and trans min both to 100% than they are invisible. take "upper eyebrows" no map and transmax and min both to 100

KimberlyC ( ) posted Sat, 03 November 2001 at 2:52 PM

ok i think i see where i'm getting confused....their are 2 eyebrows...besides "upper eyebrows"?......is the second named differently..because i only see eyebrow and upper.... Thx!!

Here's what I do: EyeBrows: Set to the same color as the rest of the SkinHead. Minimum Transparency to 0. Maximum Transparency to 0. No Transparency Map. UpperEyebrows: Set to the Object color you want. (For best results, set the ambient to Black.) Minimum Transparency to 0. Maximum Transparency to 100. Load a Vicki Eyebrow Transparency Map. My Victoria 2 has an extra EyeBrows listed at the bottom. Set it the same as the one at the top.

i got it finally..Sigh....i dunno what i did different this time......starting to wonder if i made a boo boo and got vikky 1..dunno how i'd do that...but since i'm not seeing a second eyebrow...i'm starting to wonder.. Thank you to all that have helped me....i'm sure i was a pain :)~ Thx again!

Don't forget the bump map... on the Eyebrows, add in the Head bump map you're using. No bump for UpperEyebrows, just transmap & a non-white color, as folks said above. Also, looks like you may have that default object color underneath the texture map. This is one way to give a pale Vicki a tan, but can be way too bright the way it is. Search Free Stuff for "nfredman" and download my Zap Vicki 2 Texture Pose file & install it. Use it before you apply a new texture. You may also want to create a non-textures V2 character for easy reference.
